INTRODUCTION & OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
INTRODUCTION
This research is conducted so as to understand the impact physical fitness has on
employee productivity. In today’s sedentary lifestyle, it is becoming all the more important for
employees to engage in physical activity. It not only improves physical health but also mental
health. Physical exercise is the performance of some activity to enhance physical fitness and
overall health and wellness. A good physical exercise involves at least 30 minutes and hence in
this research anyone engaging in any physical activity for more than 30 minutes is considered to
be physically active. The proxies for productivity in this study are low absenteeism, alertness,
speed of work completion, level of activeness, level of stress and diseases of the employee.
With the help of a structured questionnaire administered to 100 respondents spanning
across varied fields like business management, engineering, marketing, IT, health sector,
software development etc., we aimed to examine the difference between the productiveness of
those who engage in physical activity and those who do not. According to the results of our
study, it was found that
OBJECTIVES
To descriptively examine the relationship between physical activity and employee

To find whether there exists a difference between the work productivities of employees
who exercise and those who do not

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
SOURCE OF DATA
Data is primary in nature and is collected from the sample of working professionals aged
between 20 to 40.
DATA COLLECTION METHOD
The data has been collected with the help of a structured questionnaire by the means of a google
form.
TIME FRAME
The data has been collected over a period of 2 weeks.
DATA ANALYSIS METHOD
Coding- scale
The data has been analyzed by using descriptive statistical methods such as mean, media, mode,
standard deviation, variance, percentages, skewness and kurtosis. It is presented in the form of
graphs and tables.
SOFTWARE
SPSS as well as Excel was used to analyze the data collected.
