This study aims to assess project management practices in Ilocos Norte, Philippines by identifying construction firms that use project management systems and the factors that cause project failures. It will compare conventional and modern construction techniques/materials. It will also evaluate safety construction management practices and propose alternative innovations and methodologies to address project failures and deliver projects faster. Specifically, the study will identify local construction firms that use project management, discover risk factors for failure, compare traditional and modern methods/materials, evaluate safety management, and suggest new approaches.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


The main objective of this proposed study is to provide avenue for professional construction
practitioners like Engineers and Architects through identification of the different construction
firms here in Ilocos Norte that uses project management system in their construction project
and discover the factors or risk elements that may cause project failures and compare
conventional to modern construction techniques and construction materials and evaluate safety
construction management and proposed an alternative innovations and methodologies to
practice faster delivery of construction projects and offer sound and intellectual project output.

Specifically , this study aims to address the following :

1. Identify different project construction firms here in Ilocos Norte that uses project
management system in their construction project.
2. Discover the risk factors that causes project failure
3. Compare conventional to modern construction techniques and construction materials
4. Evaluate the safety construction management of the different construction firms.
5. Propose an alternative innovations & methodologies that may address project construction
failure .
