GATO TEJADA
In 1996 and framed in the beautification and recovery plan of the Riverside from
the Cali river, Hernando Tejada donated a bronze sculpture that today is It has
become one of the most emblematic monuments of the city. The sculpture, which
was made in Rafael Franco's workshop, was placed on Avenida of the river at the
intersection with 4th Street, and it was inaugurated on July 3, 1996, so today 20
years have passed since Cat of Tejada arrived in Cali.
In October 2006, the Cali Chamber of Commerce, in search of recovery of the
monument and its surroundings promoted the design of 15 sculptures
complementary that would be implanted in the surroundings of the original, the

there are currently 24.
LA ERMITA
The Church of the Ermita whose name means small chapel of dedication Mariana

PUENTE ORTIZ
In the city of Cali it is possible to see some constructions historical and one of them

It is a bridge that was built between 1835 and 1845, a pedestrian bridge that is 1

by the architects José Montehermoso and Fray José Ignacio Ortiz, who were in
charge of carrying out this great work of architecture in stone and brick, used
materials.
PALACIO NACIONAL
Located on the corner of Carrera 4ª and street 12. Corresponds to a Renaissance
trend with a French neoclassical style, its construction was converted in 1926 and
opened in 1933with plans projected by engineers Giovanni Lignarolo, Italian and
Belgian José Maertens, and the work of Colombian architects Pablo Emilio Páez
and Guillermo Carrillo and carried out by Pacific Railroad.
For its construction materials such as cement, iron, special roof tiles with bronze
alloys are imported from Europe, as well as locks. It had two elevators, wide
staircases, and three patios and was built of reinforced concrete with brick
partitions and concrete floors. The doors and windows were made with the best
cedar woods by cabinets from Cali. The government's objective with this building
was to endow the city with a modern and spacious Palace of Justice, a use that
took place for many years. It was declared a National Monument on July 25, 1977.
MUSEO LA TERTULIA
It was born from the initiative of a group of letters and artists that will gather
policies to manage the gatherings and entertaining conversations about art and
cultural affairs of the city, hence its name. With the Cali River as guardian, large
green areas and a couple of water sources, one of the city's cultural temples lies in
western Cali.
The Museum of Modern Art La Tertulia. It is located in the area known as the Rock
to the west of the city on Avenida Colombia that runs parallel to Río Cali, among
large trees, green areas and beautiful water sources, where the city's spa was
formerly located.
Its construction is a sample of flourishing modern architecture in the 60s, it is
inspired by the magnificent Greek temples that house the buildings between large
columns and today it is recognized as a symbol of the city. Center of modern
architecture, the La Tertulia Museum of Modern Art in Cali, protects within its
premises the most renowned artists.
