Making Chocolate Cake

An easy to read poem

Making Chocolate Cake

I love chocolate cake.
It tastes so great.
A moist and fluffy slice,
awaits me on a plate.

I helped mama make it.
We mixed sugar and butter,
added eggs, flour and cocoa,
to make a smooth batter.

Oh wait I just remembered!
We put baking powder too.
Without it our cake,
would be too tough to chew
We turned on the oven, 
and waited for it to heat.
We added some vanilla. 
It made the batter smell sweet.

We poured the batter,
into a well greased pan
Then we put it in the oven,
and our long wait began.

45 minutes of baking
Is it worth the wait?
Yes, the cake is so tasty,
I'm licking the plate.
