I am currently a fourth year student at the
University of Birmingham, reading for an MSci in Theoretical Physics, and I am looking for work in a graduate
program or similar after I finish my degree in July 2011. The sector that I am interested in working in is
Finance as I feel that this area would best suit the skills that I have gained from my degree. I believe I am a
hard-working, enthusiastic and self-motivating individual who works equally well on his own as within a larger
team environment.
• Campus representative for the Bright Network at University – responsible for marketing the company to
university students, working as a member of a team, and managing an advertising budget.
• Advanced computing skills gained from A-Level and personal education – would feel comfortable using
basic and higher level programs.
• Member of ATC for 4 years, winning several national trophies as a team, and two individual trophies.
o Promoted to Cadet Corporal – took more responsibilities, such as organising drill practise.
• President of University of Birmingham Film Society for a year – managing a small committee to organise
events for the society and represent them in the university community and in Birmingham.
• Treasurer of University Of Birmingham Film Society for a year – managing the funds and grants that
came into and out of the society, deciding most value-for-money course of action for society.
• Trained new members of staff whilst at JD Wetherspoons on the basics behind the bar.
• Currently studying German in my spare time to gain basic conversational proficiency.
• Knowledge of C++, Visual Basic and LaTeX programming languages.
