While on a three-week stay at Naval Air Station in
Fallon, Nev., late last year, members of Carrier Airborne
Command and Control Squadron 112 (VAW-112) took
a break to volunteer at the Churchill Animal Protection
Society, better known as CAPS, a non-profit, no-kill cat
and dog shelter in Fallon.
Fifteen of the 160 members of VAW-112 spent about
five hours on Saturday, Nov. 6, walking the dogs and
playing with the rescued cats.
The dogs and Sailors quickly bonded and became
comfortable with each other, making it difficult to part
