Standard
Zinc electroplating shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of SS-EN
ISO 2081:2008

Electroplated coatings of zinc-iron
Standard
Electroplating of zinc-iron alloys shall be carried out in accordance with the require-
ments of SS-EN ISO 2081:2008 subject to the following additions or amendments.
Area Requirements
Coating The coating shall consist of an alloy between zinc and iron
with an iron content of 0.8 – 1.2% iron by weight.
Designation Designation in accordance with ISO 2081:2008 to be ap-
plied with the exception that Zn is to be replaced by Zn-
Fe.
Corrosion properties After 200 hours in a neutral salt spray, the zinc-iron coat-
ing shall show no visible signs of corrosion.
