Afrin Activists Afrin Activists Network is a page managed by a group of
journalists and activities in Afrin to convey the truth

about conditions in the occupied Afrin and the
displacement regions in Aleppo, Northern Aleppo, and
other places. It is neutral in displaying the information,
with emphasis on being alongside with the people of
Afrin to regain its freedom and land from the Turkish
occupation and its factions.
A special file about the new Turkish plan for the settlement in
the occupied Afrin in the long term
The Kurdish people have been historically exposed to systematic campaigns by
the Turkish occupation, which aimed to exterminate and melt the culture through
the use of violence that was accompanied by the hideous massacres recorded by
history, besides using the policy of denying the ancient language, identity and
culture of one of the most ancient Mesopotamians.
In January 2018, in order to end the project of freedom and the Democratic self-
Administration that emerged from the Rojava revolution, Turkey worked to
eliminate this unique democratic model by striking and occupying the city of
Afrin.
After occupying Afrin, the Turkish state strived to use several methods that boil
down to violations, crimes, and extermination of any historical product that
indicates the Kurdishness of the region and its cultural identity. On this basis, steal
and pillage of the culture of the region have been done, destroy the remainder of
it, change the features of some archaeological areas, and give them an Ottoman
character, as happened recently in the Nabi Hori archaeological site.
The Turkish occupation made everything in Afrin a Turkish, we will try here in our
file to shed light on a very important and main topic which is society.
The occupation tried through its malicious policy unleashed the terrorist factions
in the city to spread havoc, destruction and killing which led the displacement of
the indigenous people out of their city into different regions. Families of settlers
of Arabs and Turkmen have been inhabited from different places of Syria instead
of them. The democratic change has not stopped since the first day of the
occupation until now.
According to the special information received by our Network from trusted
sources with photos and evidence that the Turkish occupation has prepared
recently a new program to implement the democratic change process in the long
run.
At first, the occupation brought settlers from all over Syria and entered them into
Afrin to occupy the civilians' houses who had been displaced and let the them
seize the Kurdish civilian lands.
However, the demographic change scheme has entered a new phase:
❖ What is the new unprecedented plan and regulation the Turkish
occupation dependes on in the demographic change process:
The occupation plans to protect the demographic change according to their
interests, if there is a solution in the future that guarantees the people of Afrin to
return to their city in a way the settlers should not leave Afrin as per the Turkish
plan.
Accordingly, the Turkish occupation issued new orders and decisions:
First: pinpointing lands and forests that were previously in the hands of the
Syrian regime, called "state lands", for distribution to settlers families.
Second: the parties that follow up on this issue and file who have been assigned
by the Turkish occupation are:
1- Sheikh Mohammad Katib, from Maraaba of Qalamoun region of Damascus.
2- Sharia court affiliated to the mercenaries of the Levant Front (Jabha Shamia).
3- Ali Abu Hamza, born in 1981from Tell Manin of Damascus who is responsible of
the settlement of 35 families.

4- Walid Kahil, born in 1970 who is now the Religious Guidance Officer in Afrin
city.
Indeed, these officials assigned by Turkey started granting each family of settlers
(400 m²) of lands belonging to the Kurdish expatriates, in order to establish
houses for them there.
Among the lands that they give to the settlers is the lands located above the
quarry opposite to "Trinda" village of Afrin. These lands or forests extend
between the road of "Zureikat / Zarkata" village to the village of "Trinda", where
they were completely granted to the settlers.
To be note that this scheme is being supervised by the so-called Chamber of
Engineers of the Local Council in Afrin, and the Religious Endowment Authority of
the Syrian opposition.
On the other hand, the trees in the lands and forests that were previously in the
hands of the Syrian regime are completely cut down and sold with the help of the
so-called Agricultural Committee of the Local Council, on the pretext that this will
make it easier for settlers to build homes in those areas.
According to the information and illustrated documents obtained by the Afrin
Activists Network from its reliable and private sources, the settlers have started
building many houses there until now. Nearly 1,000 pieces of land were
distributed to them, and the number of settlers who started building reached
(100) families. The construction of houses continues in the areas, with direct
support from the Turkish occupation.

On the other hand, on 19/6/2020, a meeting took place in the house of the head
of the so-called Local Council in Afrin, called "Mohammed Saeed", in the presence
of Dr. Abdel Nasser, head of the Chamber of Commerce, and the deputy of
Muhammad Saeed, called "Mohammed Rashid" and some of the security figures.
The meeting revolved around the request by one of mercenaries of Islam Army
(Jaysh Al-Isalm), which is to give him lands located east of the village of Trinda, in
order to build housing complexes for the families of the Islam Army.
For its part, Islam Army announced that they are ready to hand over the village of
Qibar of Afrin to the Local Council.
The mercenary from Islam Army, who attended that meeting, also stated that
their demand had become a decision and should be implemented. In the event
that their decision was not implemented and the lands located east of the Trinda
village were not handed over to them, they would be taken by force.
According to reliable information, the Turkish intelligence (MIT) and the Turkish
governor have agreed to this decision, and the Army of Islam has laid their hands
on it, with the full consent of the occupation.
