Article 1: Role of Descriptive and Prescriptive Gender Stereotypes in Performance Expectations

of Female Leaders

This article describes about the relationship between genders (descriptive and prescriptive)

stereotypes and exploration the performance that takes place on female leaders. There are many

proofs that female can handle the role and responsibilities better in comparison to male. The

reason behind this is that female leaders generally use the transformational leadership style and

such leadership style is used to increase the effectiveness of leaders. This article further discuss

about the stereotypes useful for interacting with leadership style and also suggest that

prescriptive stereotypes might lead to prejudice in contrast to female leaders which affect their

level of performance and expectation from organization[ CITATION Gra08 \l 1033 ].

This article will be useful for me to discuss about the stereotype that Rochelle Beauport felt

during her work. She was with opposite opinion from her boss. Despite of promotion or

motivation she is demotivated with the change in department from brand management to

research marketing.

Article 2: Impact of performance appraisal on employee’s performance involving the Moderating

Role of Motivation

This article discusses about the performance appraisal of any employee in organization and how

it makes difference in their performance. Hence, this article tries to show the relationship

between performance appraisal with employee’s performance. The performance of any

employees will not happen automatically rather comes from knowledge, hard work, skills,

commitment and many other variables will be responsible[ CITATION Nad13 \l 1033 ]. The article

makes the findings that there is significant relationship between performance appraisal and their

performance which is stand on the pillar of motivational factors. The major reason of
performance appraisal is to show the level of performance in achieving goal by any employee

and to suggest the improvement level so as to gain the organization success.

This article is helpful for me in my PA because doing the best for the organization Rochelle is

not satisfied with her hike. She is not interested in the job she was offered though her boss gets

strong foundation from the same position.

Article 3: Organizational Culture and Job Satisfaction: A Review

The major purpose of this study is to provide the insight of culture of any organization and

satisfaction of employees working over there. The article suggest that the modern-day job related

phenomena like satisfaction in job are directly related with the perception of employees

regarding working environment, relations with co-workers or colleagues, aim of organization

their objectives, strategies and criteria of success[ CITATION Kou14 \l 1033 ]. Moreover, the

organizational culture is most likely affected by demographic characteristics of employees

working there especially gender. The job satisfaction can be measured and promoted with the

help of analyzing the culture of any organization between the combination of demographic as

well as individual characteristics of employees.

Article 4: Perceptions of Racism and Illusions of Equity

This is the study done by Linda Hite, professor of Indiana University. In her article she tries to

show the difference of working behavior between black and white women. There used to be

influence of racism during their workplace. She had conducted the survey in various work place

between white and black employees. The result shows that many of the black respondent

perceived the domination due to racism in their workplace[ CITATION Hit06 \l 1033 ]. The result

further shows that there used to be affirmative action, gender as well as racial disparities in

workplace.
This article will help me in doing PA1 assignment because the impact of racism will hamper the

performance of the employee and grow their career.

Article 5: Impact of Human Resources Management Practices on Employees’ Satisfaction

This is the article written with the study in the cement factory of Jordan. There are many human

resources management practice held in any organization such as planning, selecting, appointing,

rewarding, motivating, training, evaluating the performance and many more. All the staffs

(around 300) were distributed with the questionnaire. The result shows that human resource

practice was very important however, the appointment function is not that good because it does

not happen according to job analysis and hence the practice is not that effective because of lack

of job coordination between job analysis and appointment. The study finds that there is positive

effect in human resource activities and job satisfaction but there is no impact of incentives and

motivational factors in the company which leads to job satisfaction[ CITATION Shd16 \l 1033 ].

This article can be relating with PA1 assignment because Rochelle is also not satisfied with the

job offered to her after successfully handling the brand management department. It means that

human resources practice is important for the satisfaction of employees in their workplace.

Article 6: Corporate Communication

The purpose of this article is to know the importance of communication in workplace. The better

communication always leads in better outcome where many strategies can be developed. The

finding of the article is that communication leads in key success of any organization, perceive the

expectation of stakeholders, know the needs and requirement and building or continuing

legitimacy within the workplace[ CITATION Tho18 \l 1033 ]. The communication is always the

essential part to maintain good and open relationship within and outside the organization.
This article helps me in PA1 assignment because though Rochelle is not satisfied with the

offered job position she never discuss with her boss. Though her boss shifted for her good, she

perceived that she was being discriminated and victim of racism. If communicated properly with

her boss could release the misunderstanding between them with healthy environment in the

organization.

Conclusion

Hence, all these articles outlined above will help me to complete my Professional Assignment in

proper way. In my assignment I have to analyze the case of HY Diaries Inc. The case need to be

discussed in different forms like stereotypes, perception, performance appraisal, communication,

motivation, employee satisfaction, organizational culture and so on.
