Green / White Patina Solution for Copper, Brass or Bronze 15, 30 or 45ml (approx)
This patina solution should be applied as mixed.
You can apply the solution by which ever method suits the piece that the patina is to be
added to.
Once you have covered the required areas with the solution it should be left to dry
completely, the patina will develop as the solution is drying.
The patina will be delicate to start with but will become hardier over the proceeding day or
two.
You can protect the patina with wax or a clear coat spray.
If the required patina has not developed then carefully re-apply the solution the areas where
you want more patina and alloy the same drying time.
Once you have the colour / patina that you want you can add extra interest to the piece by
polishing it back / removing some of the patina to create different surface textures.
In the pictures you can a copper square to which I have applied two coats of the solution.

Enhanced Liver Of Sulphur Patina Solution15ml - 120ml (approx)
I have been working on a Liver of Sulphur patina solution that I can use to get the same
effect as heating copper but without the having to use a flame
The one that I have created is based on Liver of Sulphur but I have added a couple of other
chemicals so this solution will add a very nice iridescent rainbow if you follow these
directions,
Mix the solution at 25ml to 1 litre of water at approx 60 - 70 deg C
Wash / pour the solution over the copper
Wash of immediately with clean cold water
Please see the copper in the picture for the effects I have achieved, the Purple / Blue area of
the copper in the picture.
You can also leave the copper / silver in the solution to get an aged vintage / antique looking
patina's all the way to complete black, the right hand end of the copper and silver have been
left in the solution for 30 seconds or so.
Silver has a blue grey colour with hints of rainbow in the background.
I haven been using this particular solution for several years now and I am obtaining very
good consistent results with fixed colours that have not faded.
This concentrated liquid should be diluted at a ratio of about 40:1 (25ml will make approx. 1
litre of solution) with hot water (I use water at about 60 deg C) but this ratio can be adjusted
depending on how quickly you want the colour to develop, the less concentrated the solution
you use the easier it is to control the colour generation.
Some of the colours that can be generated are shades of purple, blue, black and coppers in
many different depths and hues from complete deep black to the lightest purple greys.
Once you have the colour that you want you can add to the interest of the piece by polishing
it back the to reveal / create surface textures.
To extend the life Liver of Sulphur it should be kept in a dark cool environment until it's
mixed for use.
PLEASE NOTE
This patina solution is slightly corrosive so needs to be handled with care especially before
being diluted.
DO NOT mix this solution with any acids.

Best Quality Traditional Liver of Sulphur Patina Solution 15ml - 120ml
Liver of Sulphur (also known as Ammonium Hydro-Sulphide) is used to add an aged
vintage / antique patina to many metals including Silver, Copper and Brass.
I have been using this particular solution for a long time obtaining very good consistent
results.

Irridescent Red / Purple Patina Solution for Copper, Brass or Bronze, 15, 30 or 45ml
(approx.)
This patina produces an iridescent finish which means the depth and colour of the patina will
change if you view it from different angles some angles will give a much deeper colour than
others.
If you have any problems using the solution or achieving a patina please ask for help.
This patina solution should be applied as mixed.
The metal MUST be very clean, I used 800 grit sand paper for flat work or dilute acid or
jewellers pickle for other pieces.
(I use it at room temperature with the metal also at room temperature)
You can appy the solution by which ever method suits the piece that the patina is to be
added to.
Once you have applied the patina solution to the required areas the patina will start to
develope, first turning a burnt Orange colour on copper the reaction can happen very
quickly, from a seconds to a couple of minutes once you have this colour pour off and collect
the solution, it can be used again, or soak up all of the remaining solution rinse over with a
little clean water and then allow it to dry naturally, the red / purple colour will appear as the
piece dries, if you want more colour simply put the solution on those places that you want it.
You should keep an eye on the piece as the colour changes and remove it when you have
the colour that you want, then wash it off with clean plenty of warm water, if you are seeing
more blue hues then the solution was left on for too long, simply remove the patina with very
fine wire wool or abrasive paper and re-apply the solution.
You can reapply the patina if the colour hasn't developed enough.
Brass and Bronze will take longer to develop the different colours but they will develop.
The pieces in the pictures where in the solution for approx 90 seconds for the flat square and
5 minutes for the hammered square.
