PROBABILITY AND IMPACT MATRIX

4 4 8 12 16
The probability and impact matrix is the tool that maps the probability 3 3 6 9 12
of occurrence and impact analysis of each identified risk. The matrix

IMPACT
shows the combination of probability and impact levels, which allows
for classifying risks into priority scales.
2 2 4 6 8
The matrix includes four risk levels, both for probability and impact: 1 1 2 3 4
high, medium high, medium low, and low. Each of these levels has an
associated absolute value (4, 3, 2, and 1, respectively), so the level of
risk is calculated as the product of the absolute values allocated to its
1 2 3 4
probability and its impact.
