Objectives with specific aims and possible outcome: The objectives of the study
are as follows:
a. To numerically investigate hydrodynamic interaction phenomena for 3D freely
floating box-shaped bodies.
b. To investigate the effect of following parameters on hydrodynamic interaction
i) Arrangement of identical and non-identical panels over the wetted
surface of the floating bodies.
ii) Identical and Non-identical size for the floating bodies.
iii) The separation distance (gap) between the floating bodies.
iv) Arrangement of the floating bodies i.e., 1x2, 2x2, 1x3, 3x3, 1x21 etc.
v) Wave heading angle.

The specific aim of study is to investigate hydrodynamic interaction phenomena for 3D box-
shaped floating bodies using frequency domain analysis.

The possible outcome: The possible outcomes of the study are as follows:
a. To illustrate the effect of hydrodynamic interaction on added mass and
damping coefficients of box-shaped floating bodies.
b. To depict the effect of hydrodynamic interaction for wave exciting forces on
the box-shaped floating bodies.
c. To depict the effect of hydrodynamic interaction for motion responses of the
box-shaped floating bodies.
d. To depict the effect of hydrodynamic interaction for radiation as well as
diffraction problems.
e. To give recommendation in the light of above mentioned analysis that will be
helpful to ensure the safety of floating bodies operating in close vicinity in
open sea.
