To enter service mode on the AMX 4 cal unit and access the calibration menu, press the MAS up, MAS down, KV down, and KV up buttons in that order. Once in service mode, scroll through the menu using the kVp arrow key until "CALIBRATE SYSTEM" is displayed and press the mAs down arrow key to confirm selection. A test 4 error on startup indicates the battery charger needs calibration, which can be bypassed by toggling the service switch between run and service modes at the correct times during startup testing.

MAS up, MAS down, KV down and KV up. Press these 4 buttons in this order and that is your
password.

You need to flip a toggle switch located inside the unit,behind a film bin on the left side, and turn a
key switch on. You will the see an"ENS SERVC MODE" message on the display. By pressing a kVp
upper arrow kew scroll up until you see the prompt "CALIBRATE SYSTEM" and then press mAs down
arrow key, to confirm selection.

If I remember correctly, test 4 error means that your battery charger need calibration.

Power up error at test 4 is calibration data base checksum error. Calculates check sum for calibration
data base and compares it with the stored value. Test fails if they are not equal. Entering calibration
will give a more specific error code for the check sum failure. You can also do a checksum by-pass.

Checksum by-pass: Power off. Turn service switch as described by Val Vaysberg to "RUN" mode [up].
Power on. Turn service switch to "SERVICE" mode [down], before "test 04-failed". Turn service
switch back to "RUN" mode [up], before "testing complete". You are in application mode with all
functions enabled.

In application mode, the application error code will let you know how to troubleshoot the problem.
