Essays (4x20=80)

1. Define quality assurance. Explain about the quality assurance cycle. Draw a nursing
audit plan for a 150 bedded medical /surgical hospital. (2+8+10=20)
2. Explain in detail about the stages of sleep cycle and sleep disorders. Explain the role
of nurse in promotion of sleep. (5+10+5=20)
3. Mr. X is unconscious after a head injury and admitted in the emergency department
with coma score 5. Describe the stages of unconsciousness and detail the
emergency management of Mr. X. List any four nursing diagnosis according to priority
for this patient and prepare a nursing care plan. (5+5+10=20)
4. Enurmerate types of shock. Explain pathophysiology of hypovolemic
shock. Describe the emergency management of hypovolemic shock and prepare a
nursing care plan for the first 48 hours. (5+5+10=20)
