Lab#09

Calculation of various characteristics of data, measurement, descriptive statistics of data

(using Minitab).

Objective:
 To learn about Calculation of descriptive statistics of data(Using Minitab).
 To learn about the drawing graph of Data(Histogram).

Introduction:

We can calculate different characteristics of data like graphs of data and descriptive statistics etc
using minitab package.

Steps for Drawing Histograms:

 Choose Graph > Histogram.

 Choose simple, and then click OK.


 In Graph variables, enter C1 then click ok.

 After clicking ok you minitab will give you the histogram.

Descriptive Statistics of the data:

 Click Statistics.
 Uncheck First quartile, Median, Third quartile, N nonmissing, and N missing.
 Check N total etc then click ok.

 By clicking ok you will get the mean , median etc i-e descriptive statistics of the data.

Comments and observation:
Minitab is seems to be like excel but there is difference between
both. It is user friendly user can use it easily for the analysis of Data.

Conclusion:
After this lab we are able to use Minitab for the calculation of various
characteristics of data.
