Polluted, Lay, Affect

Paul Coleman, known as the Earthwalker, has walked thousands of miles through 39 nations to raise awareness about environmental protection and plant trees. He was inspired to help the planet after seeing issues like pollution and deforestation ruin natural landscapes. Since beginning his journey in 1990, Paul has planted over 11 million trees and hopes to plant 100 million trees, equal to the number of deaths caused by war in the last century. Along with his wife, Paul has motivated many others to plant trees around the world. His clear message is that small actions by everyone can help save the planet.

Hi Dennis,

How are you? Sorry I haven’t written for a long time, but
I’ve been very busy. I’m doing some volunteer work this
summer for a neighborhood conservation project and I
wanted to tell you about it.

We’ve already done so many things. We’ve collected trash

in a local park and we’ve cleaned graffiti off walls. Our
neighborhood looks much better already, but we haven’t
finished yet. Tomorrow we’re helping to make a rooftop
garden on top of the Town Hall. I can’t wait! The project is
hard work, but it’s a lot of fun and I’ve met some great
people, too.

How has your summer been? Write back soon.

Brian
