The Corona Virus is a family of viruses that are known to cause
symptoms of cold, respiratory problems. The new coronavirus
was identified as the cause of a disease outbreak that
originated in China. The virus is now known as the severe acute
respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
The Corona Virus also is known as Covid19 is a disease caused
by a virus. This virus was first identified in December 2019 in
Wuhan, China. But the World Health Organization (WHO)
declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of
International Concern on 30 January, and a pandemic on 11
March.
Public health groups, including the U.S. Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) and WHO, are monitoring the
pandemic. These groups have also issued recommendations for
preventing and treating the illness.
A -Reasons
1. For Outbreak
The Corona Virus outbreak is known to have started in the
capital of Hubei Province Wuhan Of China. The disease was first
recorded in the Early month of December 2019 and some of the
first patients were vendors or dealers in the Huanan Seafood
Market.
The reason for the Covid19 Outbreak is a zoonosis outbreak
meaning it was caused from animal to human transmission.
The exact animal which caused the Covid19 is not yet known
but some say it could have been contact with Bats. The disease
continued to spread from human to human until many were
infected with several deaths.
2. For becoming a Pandemic
There were many people who had been affected by the virus
and there were many people who had to leave the country for
various emergencies the Covid19 soon became a pandemic.
The first case of Covid19 Outside China was on 13th January
2020 in Thailand from a 61-year-old Chinese woman who
travelled to Thailand after she caught the disease.
After this the disease spread very fast due to the people the
woman met and travelled within Thailand.
3. Data- World, India, UAE, China, Italy, New Zealand
World: -
Total cases – 19,339,299
Total deaths – 719,152
Recovered – 12,418,520

B-Impact
1. on economy, on education, on social life.
The coronavirus becoming a pandemic had a huge impact on
economy, Education & social Life. More than 200 countries
have been affected by the virus and there was an impact on all
these countries due to this. The pandemic caused the World’s
Largest Global Recession in History.
The Economy of many countries has been affected by the
coronavirus. There were many places with supply shortage due
to Panic buying & Increased usage of goods to combat the
pandemic. Many took advantage of the pandemic to increase
prices of certain necessary goods like Masks, sanitizers etc.
The Education sector of the society has been largely affected.
The Covid19 pandemic resulted in closure of schools, colleges
and universities. Countries like the Canada, Mexico, India etc.
has completely closed while Greenland, Australia etc. did not
close schools. This affected the education of many.
The social life of many were affected by the coronavirus. There
were cases of excessive aggression and violence due to the
Lockdown caused by the pandemic. Even social gathering like
marriage, religious gathering etc. has been stopped due to the
pandemic. Many People even lost their jobs due to the
pandemic.
C- Measures
1. How did the above countries [ India, UAE, New Zealand,
Italy] tackle the issue of Covid-19 pandemic?
The countries India, UAE, New Zealand and Italy responded to
the Covid-19 Pandemic by following the measures suggested by
the World Health Organization (WHO). The first measure the
above-mentioned countries took was to issue a lockdown which
was to slow down the virus spreading. Some other measures
were social distancing & using Sanitizers.
Since there is no vaccine for the Corona Virus the best thing to
do is to minimize the disease spreading and the lockdown and
other preventive measures helps.
The schools were closed due to the lockdown, but students
received their education through online services where they
were taught by their teachers and assigned work just like
normal school.
Even many places of work had to be shut down due to the
lockdown, but the employees could do their work from home
using laptops, tablets etc.
The lockdown not only helped to reduce the spreading of the
virus but also helped families be together with each other and
spend time together.
2. Suggest few measures that should be taken by countries
like India and UAE to bring this pandemic under control .
Some methods to bring the pandemic under control is to
Make sure the lockdown is stricter, no one goes out for
unimportant reason.
Making sure no Covid19 infected person gets in contact
with public.
Making sure all shops and places where people commonly
goes to check their customers temperature.
Making sure all citizen wear masks when going outdoors.
Every person who had recent contact with a Covid19
infected person to be made sure that they do not have the
disease and they are in self quarantine for 14 days.
Enforcing these ideas or make them even stricter and important
can help during the pandemic.
