Throughout the course of my tenure at DEP I participated in the detailing, planning, design and research of complex projects that support NYC
water infrastructure within the Tri-State area and upstate. I was responsible for exercising project management duties from design development
through construction procurement, liaising with registered Architects, Engineers, public officials, community stakeholders and manufacturers
for product support. Other responsibilities included implementing sustainable solutions through rigorous in-house quality review sessions, as
well as reviewing shop drawings for conformance to design documentation. As a result, I was successfully responsible for reducing project
budgets by incorporating cost-saving measures at 30% design, and received experience in environmental and building code research,
landscape restoration and wayfinding design. As Public Design Commission (PDC) Liaison from 6/10 to 12/12, I managed design objectives
through review & analysis at key milestones for monthly Commission hearings. Within this position, proposals submitted to the PDC for the
Right-of-Way Bioswales, Carbon Addition Facilities at Jamaica Bay, Ward’s Island and Bowery Bay, and the Prototypical Sponge Park in
Gowanus Canal, all won NYC PDC Excellence Awards.
