Why Morality Matters
(Reflective Writing)

1. I personally think that I follow the deontological system because I usually base
my morals on the three primary systems which are the divine command, natural
law and ethical rationalism. When I think about what is wrong or right, I think of
those systems to choose decisions when it comes to doing actions or correcting
the actions of other people. I usually point out the wrongdoings of another person
or myself by basing it on the three primary systems that are under the
deontological system.

2. As an ideal youth or citizen, I think it is important for us students to be able to

take note of what is the right thing to do. We already know what is wrong which
can be commonly seen in the growing trend of alcohol and drugs during this
generation which is the reason why we should avoid it and tell other people to
stop doing it as well. This can be done through well-executed seminars and
proper discipline to those people who are stubborn. A simple reminder to them
should be given.

I think I will react to that phrase by saying that we should not worry about it too
much because we have our choices. By believing in God, it does not mean that
we are not probable to do wrongdoings or sins. We should remember that we
have the choice to not do the wrong things. We have a choice not to sin and
obey God’s orders.

3. I think that the basis or foundation for my views would be my home, church and
school. Those three places are important since I met a lot of people from those
places which helped me see and realize a lot of things that made me open my
eyes to what my views really are. They gave me important lessons about what is
wrong or right and different views that shaped mine.

The best way to share your views to others is by respecting what their views are
as well and telling them your personal experiences about what you believe in.
You can tell them what you think is wrong and right, but you also have to listen to
their opinions. They have their own choice if they will believe in you or not, but
we should remember that we also must believe in the idea of them believing on
you. Don’t think that they don’t have a chance to believe in you because even
Jesus did not pass by the Samaritans just because of the conflict between them
and the Jews. Remember how the Samaritans believed in Him and it was right
for Jesus to see the receptivity in their hearts.
