The social situation was Spanish accomplished little in the Philippines. They introduced Catholicism,

The Spaniards ruled the Filipinos in that time. The Filipinos became the Spaniard's slave. The
Spaniards claimed their taxes and they worked under the power of the Spaniards.

By looking at Rizal's family background, what are the the traits that Rizal emulated from
his family members that has turned him into that man that he has become. *

Rizal was transformational, charismatic, visionary, and most importantly, incorruptible. He displayed
a kind of leadership that was not motivated by personal interest but the willingness to sacrifice
oneself for the good of the majority which he described in his novels as the national sentiment. Also
He is a man honored after death by public worship, because of exceptional service to mankind.
