All performance criteria must be performed in accordance with workplace
        procedures.
Outcomes and performance criteria
Outcome 1
Demonstrate knowledge of the construction of rotational moulds.
Performance criteria
1.1 Standard mould components are identified using a workplace mould and their
             purpose is described.
Range mould components – cavity, part line, venting system, clamping
                           system, frame.

Range mould features – insulation, heat deflectors, heat pins, filling ports,
transvectors, heating fins, insert holders, drop box, core pins,
                       lifting attachments.
1.3 The materials and manufacturing processes used for rotational mould
          construction are described.
          Range        materials – aluminium, nickel, mild steel, stainless steel;
                       manufacturing processes – casting, pre-fabricating,
                       electroforming, CNC machining.
1.4 The requirement for and method of accommodating venting and product
shrinkage within rotational moulds is explained.
Outcome 2
Perform mould servicing.
Range servicing of two moulds with different configurations is required.
Performance criteria
2.1 All moulding and mould contact surfaces are inspected for damage and wear
          and results are reported.
2.2 Mould storage procedures are performed.
Range examples of storage procedures are – external inspection,
                       cleaning, surface protection coating.
Outcome 3
Demonstrate knowledge of and apply mould release agents.
Performance criteria
