The first Amazon.

com website was launched on July 16, 1995, immediately starting the
exponential growth of the company and its presence on the web. After 30 days of
Amazon.com going online and without media promotion, Amazon.com was selling
books in all 50 US states and 45 countries.

In 1996, the website had more than 2,000 visitors a day. A year later he had multiplied
them by 25. Just a year ago, in December 1999, Time magazine named Jeff Bezos
Character of the Year and hailed him as "the king of cyber commerce."

Amazon.com, Inc.[7] (/ˈæməzɒn/), is an American multinational technology company based

in Seattle, Washington. Amazon focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming,
and artificial intelligence. It is considered one of the Big Four technology companies, along
with Google, Apple, and Facebook.[8][9][10][11] It has been referred to as "one of the most influential
economic and cultural forces in the world" as well as the world's most valuable Brand

Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos in Bellevue, Washington, on July 5, 1994. The company
started as an online marketplace for books but expanded to sell electronics, software, video
games, apparel, furniture, food, toys, and jewelry. In 2015, Amazon surpassed Walmart as the
most valuable retailer in the United States by market capitalization

Amazon's initial business plan was unusual. I did not expect to make a profit in four to five years.
This "slow" growth caused shareholders to complain that the company did not reach profitability
quickly enough to justify the investment or even to survive long term.

Amazon.com started as an online bookstore, soon branching out into different product lines,
adding DVDs, music CDs, software, video games, electronics, clothing, furniture, food, and more.
But Bezos still has a supreme aspiration, a new vision: to be the biggest store on the planet.

Amazon is that service that every person who makes purchases over the Internet ends up running
into, it is a phenomenon that today we have normalized, but have you ever stopped to think about
the magnitude of a company like this? Well stay to know everything about the history of amazon.
