his Advent Bible Companion should help you
to: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).
Every word must have its proper bearing on the
subject presented in the Bible. This calls for diligent
Bible study. This companion is not an exhaustive
study, but provides the foundation for further studies.
When studying the Bible, consider the rule set out
in Isaiah 28:10: “For precept must be upon precept,
precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line;
here a little, and there a little.” You will need your
Bible to make use of the Advent Bible companion.
1 Word of God
2 Timothy 3:15-17 All scripture is given by
inspiration of God. 2 Peter 1:19-21 The Bible
interprets itself. John 14:29 Jesus tells us things
before they take place. Isaiah 46:9, 10 God tells us
the end from the beginning. Psalm 138:2 The Lord
magnifies His word. Psalm 119:9 The word will
cleanse the life. Psalm 119:133 Our steps should be

ordered by the word. Matthew 4:4 The word is as
essential as our daily food. 2 Corinthians 3:1-3
Unbelievers read in the lives of believers the word of
God. 1 Peter 3:1 They “may without the word” be
converted by the godly lives of earnest Christians.
Psalm 33:6-9; Hebrews 11:1-3 “By the word of
the Lord were the heavens made.” Psalm 119:11
Hid in the heart, it will shield from sin. Deuteronomy
8:3 We learn to live upon the word of God. 1 John

2 God
Summary about the Father: The Father is Head of
All (Ephesians 4:6; 1Corinthians 11:3); The Father is
All and in All (1 Corinthians 15:28; John 17:23); The
Father is Creator and Source of All (Hebrews 2:10; 1
Corinthians 8:6; Romans 11:36; Ephesians 3:14-15;

Revelation 4:11); and the Father has everlasting life
(original, unborrowed, underived) (John 5:26).
God who gave us His Son (John 3:16) is not a
trinity! The trinity doctrine holds God to be a single
Being but who is simultaneously Father, Son and
Holy Spirit. This idea immediately creates confusion
as to who is the God that gave His Son and who was
the Son that was given. Indeed, it raises a question
as to whether it was really a Son that was given. If
you accept the Bible as it reads, you will discover the
truth about God; but the trinity doctrine is unbiblical!
Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our
God is one LORD;” 2 Kings 19:15 “O LORD God …
thou art the God, even thou alone;” Nehemiah 9:6
“Thou, even thou, art LORD alone;” Mark 12:29
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord;” John
17:3 “And this is life eternal, that they might know
thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou
hast sent;” Romans 3:30 “Seeing it is one God.”
1 Corinthians 8:4 “there is none other God but
one;” 1 Corinthians 8:6 “there is but one God, the
Father, of whom are all things; Galatians 3:20 “God
is one;” Ephesians 4:6 “One God and Father of all,
who is above all;” 1 Timothy 2:5 “there is one God;”
1 Timothy 6:15 He is “the only Potentate;” Daniel
7:14 God is “the Ancient of Days;” 1 Peter 1:2 by

“the foreknowledge of God the Father;” Psalm 90:2
“from everlasting to everlasting;” James 1:17 “with
whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning;”
Malachi 3:6 He “changes not;” 1 Timothy 6:16
“dwelling in the light, whom no man has seen, nor

3 Son of God
Summary about the Son: The Son is by and
through whom are all things (Colossians 1:16; John
1:3; Hebrews 1:2); The Son created all creatures by
the Father’s power (Ephesians 3:9); The Son has
the Father’s original life (original, unborrowed,
underived) (John 5:26); The Son has the fullness of
His Father [Godhead] dwelling in Him (Colossians
2:9; how is the Father [Godhead] in the Son? by the
Spirit of the Father being without measure in the
Son: John 3:34). Christ is Not created, but “the only
begotten Son of God” (John 1:18; 3:16, 18; 1 John
4:9); ever subject to the authority of His Father, the
only true God (1 Corinthians 15:27-28; John 17:3).
Our “Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father” (2
John 1:3) is not the second trinity god! If God the
Supreme Being who “sent His Son to be the atoning
sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 4:10) is a trinity and

His Son is, therefore, Himself the Supreme Being or
He is absolutely co-equal with the Supreme Being,
then it implies that His Son Jesus did not truly die.
The Supreme Being is described as the one “Who
only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no
man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen,
nor can see” (1Tim. 6:15-16). If such applied to
Jesus then He did not truly die at the cross, but was
very much alive while foisting a delusion on
humanity, thus making all our professions about the
death and resurrection of Christ mere vanity and
illusion. That is how absurd a belief in the trinity is!
If you accept the Bible as it reads, you will not deny
the Fatherhood of God and Sonship of Jesus, “He is
antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son” (1
John 2:22), and the trinity is an antichrist doctrine!
The Bible is clear that Christ inherited all things
from Jehovah, His Father. “Jesus knowing that the
Father had given all things into His hands” (John
13:3), All things: His Father’s life (John 5:26; 6:57),
His Father’s name (Heb 1:4; Phil 2:9; Ex 23:21-23),
His Father’s glory (John 17:22), His Father’s throne
(Rev 3:21), and His Father’s power of authority
(John 10:18; Matt 28:18). The benevolence of God
“whose name alone is JEHOVAH” (Ps 83:18) in
putting His [Jehovah’s] name in His Son (Ex 23:21)

and giving Him All things is used by the trinitarians to
deny Christ’s Sonship and God’s Fatherhood.
The Son of God was “possessed by the LORD in
the beginning of His way, before His works of old”
(Prov 8:22); “whose going forth has been from
everlasting” "from the days of eternity" (Micah 5:2);
“before Abraham was” (John 8:58); “before the
mountains and hills” (Prov 8:25); “before the world
began” (2 Tim 1:9); "before the world was" (John
17:5); He “proceeded forth” (John 8:42); “was
brought forth” (Prov 8:24-25); “came out from God”
and "came out from" the Father (John 16:27; 17:8).
The Son of God is “the image of the invisible
God” Col 1:15; “the express image of His person”
Heb 1:3; "the first begotten" Heb 1:6; "the fruit of
[His] body" Micah 6:7; "Son of the most high God"
Mark 5:7; “the beginning [Head] of the creation of
God” Rev 3:14; “the First-born of every creature” Col
1:15; And we are "the church of the firstborn" Heb
12:23; for by Him “were all things created” Col 1:16.
The Son of God is “by whom [God] made the
worlds” Heb 1:2; "God, who created all things by
Jesus Christ” Eph 3:9; "For by the word of the LORD
were the heavens made" Psalm 33:6; for He was
“before all things, and by Him all things consist” Col
1:17; who “upholds all things by the Word of His

[God’s] power” Heb 1:3 "by inheritance" Heb 1:4;
Who is “in the bosom of the Father” John 1:18; for
“he that has seen [Him] has seen the Father” John
14:9; "being in the form of God but not grasping to
be equal with God" Phil 2:6; "[His] God and [our]
God" John 20:17; “in Whom dwells all the fullness of
the Godhead bodily” Col 2:9; He is “the mighty God”
Ps 50:1; Isa 9:6; He was "anointed by [His] God
above [His] fellows" Heb 1:9; so that “all the angels
of God worship Him” Heb 1:6; “the counsel of peace
shall be between them both” Zech 6:13; keeping “the
unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” Eph 4:3; "[he]
and [his] Father are one" John 10:30; "[He is] in the

To the Son of God, “God, even the Father... has
put all things under his [Christ's] feet” 1 Cor15:27;
"Whom [God] has appointed heir of all things” Heb
1:2; except "He which did put all things under him" 1
Cor 15:27; because “the head of Christ is God” 1
Cor 11:3; "all power is given unto [him] in heaven
and in earth" Matt 28:18; The Father has given him
"power over all flesh” John 17:2; "All things are
delivered unto [him] of [his] Father" Matt 11:27; "that
in all things he might have the preeminence" Col
1:18; Therefore "the LORD GOD" said "Mine Angel
shall go before you...My name is in him" Exod 23:17-

23; “they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed
them: and that Rock was Christ” 1 Cor 10:4; “the
Angel of His presence saved them...and He bare
them, and carried them all the days of old” Isa 63:9.
4 Spirit of God
Summary about the Holy Spirit: Of spirits, there is
only “one Spirit” (Ephesians 4:4) that is holy; that
one Spirit is “the Spirit of your Father” (Matthew
10:20); God is everywhere by and in that one Spirit,
as the psalmist tells us that God’s own Spirit is His
presence, “Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? or
whither shall I flee from thy presence?” (Psalm
139:7); that one Spirit is an integral part of God just
as the spirit of man is an integral part of man, for we
are told, “For what man knoweth the things of a man,
save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the
things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God”
(1 Corinthians 2:11); that one Spirit is which God
gave to His Son, Christ, “for God giveth not the Spirit
by measure unto Him” (John 3:34); hence that one
Spirit is shared by the Father and His Son as their
Spirit, that is why Paul interchanges this by saying,
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be
that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man

have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”
(Romans 8:9); that one Spirit the Father gives us as
the Spirit of His Son, “And because ye are sons,
God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your
hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6); it is
that one Spirit, as an integral inner part of Christ,
that He breathed out to His disciples, “And when he
had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto
them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost” (John 20:22); that
one Spirit of Christ, as an integral part of Christ,
when in us, is Christ Himself, for “Now the Lord is
that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17); and as the Father and
Son share that one Spirit, when that one Spirit is in
us, Father and Son are in us, for Christ said: “If a
man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father
will love him, and we will come unto him, and make
our abode with him” (John 14:23).
The Holy Spirit is not a third trinity god! The
above Bible texts are very clear that the Holy Spirit is
related to God in the same way that the spirit of man
is related to man: “For what man knoweth the things
of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the
Spirit of God” (1 Cor. 2:11). The trinity doctrine seeks
to separate the Holy Spirit (the One Spirit shared by

the Father and His Son) from the Father and His
Son to form a third trinity god! A belief in the trinity
make a nonentity of God and of Christ, for God and
His Son are omnipresent and omniscient by their
Holy Spirit, and could not themselves be everywhere
if the Holy Spirit were a separate entity from them!
Power and Mind: "the Holy Spirit...[is] the power
of the Most High" Luke 1:35; "Christ the power of
God and the wisdom of God" 1 Cor 1:24; "who has
known the mind of the Lord to instruct him?" Rom
11:34; "but we have the mind of Christ" 1 Cor 2:16.
Spirit of Truth: This is “the Spirit of truth” John
16:13; because Jesus is "the truth" John 14:6; “The
Spirit of Jesus Christ” Phil 1:19; is “another
Comforter” [Advocate] John 14:16; as "he appeared
in another form unto two of them" Mark 16:12.
Spirit from the Father: For by Christ “we have
access by one Spirit to the Father” Eph 2:18; Who
“proceedeth from the Father” John 15:26; “whom the
Father will send in [Jesus'] name” John 14:25; and
which Christ “received from the Father” Acts 2:32;
and "will send unto you from the Father” John 15:26;
"if [Jesus] depart[s he] will send [the Comforter]"
John 16:7; “which [the Father] shed on us
abundantly through Jesus Christ” Titus 3:5,6; who
“having received of the Father the promise of the

Holy Ghost, he [Jesus] has shed forth” Acts 2:33 on
Pentecost; “from the presence of the Lord. And He
shall send Jesus Christ” Acts 3:19-20; for “God has
sent the Spirit of His son into our hearts” Gal 4:6;
“The world does not know him, but you know him for
he dwells with you” John 14:17; "that he may abide
with you forever" John 14:16; "And lo, I am with you
always, even unto the end of the world" Matt 28:20;
"I will never leave you, nor forsake you" Heb 13:5;
Jesus said, “I will manifest myself to” you John
14:21; “I will come to you” John 14:18; My Father
and I “we will come and make our abode” with you
John 14:23; and "Truly our fellowship is with the
Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ" 1 John 1:3.
5 Second Advent
John 14:1-3 Second Advent is all this is about.
Acts 1:9-11 Christ will return as He went. Revelation
1:7 Will come in clouds visible to all. Matthew 24:30
Come with power and great glory. Luke 9:26 Three-
fold glory – His own, His Father’s, and the angels’.
Matthew 25:31 All the angels come with Christ.
Revelation 6:15-17 Wicked seek to hide. 2
Thessalonians 1:8-9 Effect upon the wicked.
Jeremiah 25:30-33 Wicked slain. Matthew 28:5 No
fear for those who seek Jesus. 1 Thessalonians

4:16-17 The righteous caught up. 1 Corinthians
15:51-53 Made immortal. Philippians 3:20, 21.
Bodies like Christ’s. Matthew 17:2 Faces like the
sun. Matthew 13:43 Shine as the sun in the
kingdom. Luke 21:34-36 Preparation for His coming.
6 First Angel’s Message
The first angel calls out with a loud voice, “Saying
with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him;
for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship
him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and
the fountains of waters” (Revelation 14:7). The God
we are to fear and worship is the Creator; we
already established that He is the Father, who
created all things through His Son. The first angel
calls us to fear and worship One God.
This One God is whom the apostles and their
company praised and prayed to: “And when they
heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one
accord, and said, Lord, Thou art God, which hast
made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in
them is” (Acts 4:24). This One God is whom His Son
Jesus Christ praised: “In that hour Jesus rejoiced in
spirit, and said, I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of
heaven and earth, that Thou hast hid these things

from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them
unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good
in Thy sight” (Luke 10:21) – this call to worship One
true God, whom to know is life eternal (John 17:3), is
made plain in the Bible that babes can understand it!
7 Second Angel’s Message
Hebrews 10:32-34 Many rejected the first angel’s
message and persecuted those who accepted it.
Revelation 14:8 The second angel followed,
announcing the fall of Babylon.
Revelation 17:5-6, 18 Babylon martyrs God’s
people. Babylon is an apostate church. Babylon
includes mother and daughters. The daughters as
well as the mother are fallen. Revelation 18:1-5 The
message is repeated with greater force when the
“daughter churches” have become wholly corrupt.
Revelation 18:3 Unlawful connection with nations
the crowning sin. 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians
5:23 Christ is the head of the church. Church appeal
nations to make religious laws is unfaithful to Christ.
Revelation 18:4 God calls His people out of Babylon;
all who refuse receive of her plagues.

8 Third Angel’s Message
Revelation 14:9-12 This is the most solemn
message in the Bible. Revelation 14:14 It is the last
message before the coming of Christ. It addressed
to “any man”; none are excluded. It is a warning
against the worship of the beast and its image.
Revelation 13:5-7 The beast is the power that
persecuted the saints for 42 months, or 1260 years.
Daniel 7:25 The power that persecuted the people of
God for 1260 years thinks to change the law of God.
Exodus 20:8-11 The law of God commands us to
keep the seventh day, or Saturday, holy. 1 Samuel
15:22 Obedience highest type of worship. 1 Kings
18:21; Joshua 24:15 As in Elijah’s day, all are asked
to decide whom they will serve. Revelation 13:8
Only those whose names are in the book of life
refuse to worship the beast.
Revelation 14:9-10 Those whom obey the beast
receive his mark and drink the unmixed wrath of
God. Revelation 15:1, 7 The unmixed wrath of God
is the seven last plagues.
Psalm 91:1-10 The righteous are shielded.
Revelation 3:10 Shielded for keeping the word of
God. Revelation 14:12 Two parties, commandment-
keepers and commandment-breakers. Revelation
14:14-16 When finished Christ gathers the harvest of

the earth. Revelation 22:14 the commandment
keepers will have a right to the tree of life.
9 Law of God
Romans 5:13 “Sin is not imputed when there is no
law.” Genesis 2:17; 3:1-7 Eve coveted the fruit and
then stole. Genesis 4:7 Sin lay at Cain’s door.
Genesis 13:13; 19:4-11 Sodomites broke the law.
Genesis 39:7-10 Sin to break 7th commandment.
Genesis 9:20-27 Cursed for breaking the 5th
commandment. Exodus 16:22-30 Sabbath 30 days
before Sinai. Exodus 5:5 Israelites kept Sabbath.
Exodus 32:2-5 Idolatry is a sin. Genesis 6:5 The
antediluvians broke all the law.
God through Christ spoke the commandments at
Sinai – Deuteronomy 4:32-33; Exodus 19:1;
Numbers 1:45-46; Exodus 19:10-20; Psalm 68:8, 17;
Hebrews 12:26 His voice shook earth. Deuteronomy
4:12-13; Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 4:9-10; 5:22.
He wrote the commandments on tables of stone –
Exodus 24:12; 31:18; 32:7-19; Deuteronomy 10:1-5.
Psalm 19:7 The law is perfect. Romans 7:12
Holy, just, and good. Matthew 5:17-18 Christ never
changed the law. Colossians 1:25 Preach the law.
Isaiah 42:21 Christ magnified the law. Matthew 5:21-

26; 1 John 3:15 Hatred in heart breaks the law.
Psalm 119:96 The commandments are very broad.
10 Sabbath
Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 20:8-11 Sabbath instituted
by God. Mark 2:27 for man. Genesis 2:3; Exodus
20:11 Sabbath is Blessed, Sanctified and Hallowed.
God commands us to keep the Sabbath day holy
and God shows favour to us – Leviticus 19:30;
Exodus 16:23, 25-26; Deuteronomy 5:15; Nehemiah
9:12-14; 10:31; 13:15-19; Exodus 23:12; 31:13;
Jeremiah 17:21; Hebrews 4:4, 9.
Mark 2:28 Christ is Lord of the Sabbath. Luke
4:16 He kept the Sabbath. Matthew 24:20 Taught
His disciples to pray that they might not break the
Sabbath. Luke 4:31; 6:6 Christ taught on the
Sabbath day. John 5:5-9 Healed on the Sabbath
day. Mark 3:1-5 He taught that it was right to
perform acts of mercy on the Sabbath day. Genesis
1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31 Day begins sunset. Leviticus
23:32; Mark 1:21, 32 Sabbath begins at sunset.
Acts 16:13 Divine worship is to be celebrated on
the Sabbath. Acts 13:27; 15:21 The Scriptures are
to be read on the Sabbath. Acts 13:14, 15, 42-44;
17:2; 18:4 The word of God is to be preached on the

Work connected with religious services is allowed on

The first day, Sunday, is not the Sabbath – there
are nine references in the Bible to the first day of the
week, as follows: Genesis 1:5; Matthew 28:1; Mark
16:2, 9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1; 20:19; Acts 20:7; 1
Corinthians 16:2 – none call it holy rest day, while
three of them state it is the day after the Sabbath,
showing that they did not regard it as the Sabbath.
Daniel 7:25 This power sought to change the law
of God. Ezekiel 22:26-28; 13:10-12 Ezekiel saw the
law violated, Sabbath profaned, and those who
should have led in right lines, using “untempered
mortar,” or giving falsehood instead of God’s words.
11 Sanctuary
Hebrews 9:1 Earthly sanctuary. Exodus 25:9, 40;
1 Chronicles 28:19 Made after divine pattern.

Acts 17:31 Christ’s resurrection a pledge of
judgment. Revelation 14:6, 7 Angel announces the
opening of the judgment. Revelation 14:8-14 There
were only two other messages to be given to the
world. The real work of judgment is in heaven. We
follow our Priest by faith.

13 State of the Dead
