This document assigns load factors to different structural elements of a building. Interior columns receive a load factor of 4, exterior columns without cantilevers receive a load factor of 3, edge columns with cantilever slabs receive a load factor of 2, and all other members including edge beams with cantilevers, cantilever beams, one-way slabs, two-way slabs, and members without provisions for continuous shear transfer normal to their span receive a load factor of 1.
