MEETING FORMAT
Friday Feelings Alanon
First United Methodist
Fridays 6:30-7:30 -
‘Ask for readers and pass out pages for Welcome, Sharing Reminder, and
Closing.
Lead prayer by stating, “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things
Icannot change, courage to change the things | can and wisdom to
know the difference.”
Have volunteer read the welcome.
Any newcomers? If so, give a packet.
Introductions around the room.
Read the following: "The Alanon Family Groups are a fellowship of
relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength
and hope in order fo solve their common problems. We believe
alcoholism is a family ilness and that changed attitudes can aid
recovery. Alanon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political
entity, organization or institution; does not engage in any controversy,
neither endorses nor opposes any cause. There are no dues for
membership. Alanon is self-supporting through its own voluntary
contributions. Alanon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics.
We do this by practicing the 12 Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort
fo the families of the alcoholics and by giving understanding and
‘encouragement to the alcoholic.”
Take turns reading the steps found in the back of
any daily reader.
Pass the blue bag.
Read the following: “Tradition 7 states, ‘Every group
out fo be fully self-supporting, declining outside
contributions." in keeping with this tradition please
contribute what you are able. Contributions are
used fo support Alanon at the district, state and
world service levels; our book library; and allows for
anominal donation to this church for meeting
space."”

any daily reader.
-Count off into small groups if 10+ people. Split into
2 groups if 10-17 or 3 if 17+. Ask small groups to read
their reminders.
-Inform the groups of the subject indicated on the |
calendar -or- as leader you may select your own
subject for tonight. After this, groups can read and
discuss pages from the daily readers as time allows.
Reconvene at 7:25. \
Examples: service workers for upcoming meetings
like leader, key keeper, greeter; district news; and
upcoming events.
Ask if anyone has an Alanon birthday to celebrate
and distribute the corresponding medallian. Ask
recipient how Alanon has helped them.
Ask the volunteer to read the closing which ends
with The Lord's Prayer.
Put away books, take down signs, and straighten
chairs and tables.
