TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES :

Equipments:

1. Laminar Airflow Cabinet:


a. provide clean air to the working area.

b. provide a constant flow of air out of the work area to prevent room air from
entering.

c. The air flowing out from the hood suspends and removes contaminants
introduced into the work area by personnel.

2. Autoclave:
It is commonly used for media sterilization.

3. Oven for dry sterilization:


It is used for scalpels and glassware such as petri dishes,pipettes and others.

GLASSWARE AND ACCESSORIES REQUIRED:

1. Conical Flask: 100 ml, 250 ml,500 ml,1000ml


2. Volumetric flask: 500 ml, 1000 ml
3. Measuring Cylinders: 10 ml, 25 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml, 200 ml, 500
ml, 1000 ml
4. Graduated pipettes: 1 ml, 2 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml

5. Culture vials: Culture tubes, screw cap bottles, petri dishes,


culture flask
6. Wire mesh baskets to autoclave media
