If You Were One of The Strategist For Resolving Issues On Reproductive and Sexual Health What Would You Suggest As Actions or Laws To Be Implemented?

The document outlines several proposed actions and laws that a strategist could suggest to help resolve issues in reproductive and sexual health. This includes creating a framework to strictly implement reproductive health laws and targets. It also proposes expanding education campaigns in rural areas to address superstitious beliefs that limit family planning success. The strategist would also work to liberalize policies to improve access to reproductive healthcare, especially for women and adolescents, and address issues like unsafe abortion and violence. Communication skills of healthcare workers, especially nurses, would also be enhanced to better engage clients in a non-judgmental manner. The overall goal would be to achieve targets in improving reproductive and maternal health.

If you were one of the strategist for resolving issues on reproductive and sexual health what would
you suggest as actions or laws to be implemented?

No problem cannot be saved if not given proper solution and attention.

If I were one of the strategist for resolving issues on reproductive and sexual health I would
suggest as action to be implemented is the making of a framework that would strictly attain the
objective and targets of the RH Law or the so-called Reproductive Health Law.

My basis is the reality that shows that some health providers with all their technical knowledge
and skills are not equipped with a gender perspective on the integrate approach to reproductive health
services.

One reason why not one hundred percent statistics is on the success of the implementation of
the family planning program is associated with some factors like strongly held beliefs especially in the
rural areas. They still hold some superstitious beliefs regarding maternal and childcare. They are still
clinging in to their religious, social, ethical, political and legal structures. As a strategist, I would form an
organization to be deployed to this area for education dissemination campaign. This will not be an
overnight program to be achieved but it will probably help these people in need in due time.

I would volunteer myself to make a program and or policy on how to improve the health of
mothers and children. I will review on the existing policies. The review will focus on policies and
normative guidance documents that included the national reproductive health law, its implementing
rules and regulations and documents cited in the government’s Adolescent and Youth Health
Programmed.

I will also make a more liberal interpretation of the law to ensure the provision, delivery and
access to reproductive health care services. I will also design ways to promote, protect and fulfill
women’s reproductive health and rights and popularization of ethical and human rights norms.

I will also focus on family planning, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, unsafe abortion,
and violence against women which involve the delivery of specific health services to prevent or alleviate
health risks. Also with the complex social and cultural issues that affect the widespread implementation
and use of the services. Significant progress in improving reproductive health occurred in some areas,
but much remains to be done because in spite of the advances in family planning, in the country, fewer
percent of women of reproductive age use modern contraception. Although good options for safe
abortion exist, these services remain unavailable in many countries because of legal barriers, lack of
training, and stigma. More information must be given about how to reach adolescents with effective
services and how to reduce gender-based violence exist, but the major challenge remains: how to more
widely implement those programs that have been proven safe, effective, and affordable.

I will also enhance the communication skills and competence of those in the health field
especially the nurses. An effective communication style used throughout the consultation maximizes the
interaction’s success and the associated health promotion.

This process starts at the initial greeting. Nurses should work on their communication style,
maintaining eye contact (French, 2006) and show interest in clients’ individual concerns from the start of
the consultation. By doing this, they are likely to maximize their success in addressing presenting
concerns or meeting clients’ needs.

Nurses should take a history appropriate to clients’ needs and which fits in the ethos of their
particular service, without probing unnecessarily.

Clients’ needs should be met ‘in a non-judgmental and supportive way. It is also important to
actively engage them by asking questions and checking their understanding at regular intervals, in an
encouraging and inclusive manner. All this lays the foundation for positive communication during health
promotion.

To maximize communication and client comfort, ideally one professional should deliver the full
consultation. Nurses should refer clients to medical staff as appropriate, ensuring they work within their
own competency.

In parting, I would be an agent of true change so that all the goals on health issues contained in
the Millennium Development Goas and Sustainable Development Goals be achieved.
