High Gloss Alkyd Resin Painting Guide

This document provides quality control procedures for painting external steel surfaces using a high gloss alkyd resin system. It outlines steps to check the painting standard and ensure the spray system is clean. It specifies blasting the surface to near white metal, applying a zinc chromate primer within 8 hours at 30 microns, allowing 1 hour of drying time, then applying an alkyd gloss paint at 30 microns and allowing 24 hours of drying time. Visual inspections and film thickness tests are conducted to check for uniformity and pinholes.
