Slide_ Background: Fernandez
Earthquake is a tremor of the earth's surface usually triggered by the release of underground stress
along fault lines. This release causes movement in masses of rock and resulting shock waves. In spite of
extensive research and sophisticated equipment, it is still impossible to predict an earthquake. Many
hazards posed by earthquakes, the ground shaking, ground rapture, tsunami, liquefaction, landslide, fire,
flood, and the most worse is in human impact. Worldwide over the last few decades, a marked increase in
more powerful earthquake activity is painfully obvious (Orallo, 2011).
According to Hays (1981), death and injuries from surface faulting are very unlikely, but
casualties can occur indirectly through fault damage to structures. A variety of structures have been
damaged by surface faulting, including houses, apartments, commercial buildings, railroads, highways,
tunnels, bridges, canals, storm drains, water wells or water, gas, and sewer lines. The impact of
earthquake has a great effect to humans whom experience this disaster. Mullen (2018) states that, people
that don't have emergency plans in place might end up getting trapped, injured or even killed because of
the aftermath of an earthquake, it can still have lasting effect on the psyche where some people may end
up with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety, that the researcher have found in large earthquakes.
Human beings do not have the ability prevent earthquakes. The signal has to happen only before
large earthquakes and it has to occur before all big quakes. At the moment seismologists have failed to
find those precursors — if they even exist. Identifying the events before the major earthquakes even hit
such as multiple mini-quakes, big releases of radon gas, a change in magnetism and behavior changes in
animals, but lots of times these things happen with accompanying earthquakes and lots of times,
earthquakes happen without these things. However, we can take measures to by practicing the proper
earthquake drill and preparation to survive the earthquake and stay alive.
Therefore, the researchers see the study as subject of motivation. The researcher aims to present
an animation about the proper performing and importance of earthquake drill. The proposed study will
allow everyone to know and to enlighten about the help of earthquake drill that will save us from the
disaster.
Slide_ Research Objectives: Sobrevega
This study aims to create animation that will give to the students about the
precautionary measures of an earthquake drills.
       1. To create an animation that will enlighten the students about earthquake preparedness using
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premier.
       2. To determine the impact of animated video about the earthquake drill entitled “The World is
Shaking: An Animated Video on Earthquake Drill”, to the students.
Slide_ Significance of the Study: Calzado
The result of the study may be beneficial to the following:
To the Students, for them to enlighten and to practice protect their selves from the earthquake.
To the Animators, to be inspired in applying different effects that can be used for animation.
To the School, so they can be prepared to react appropriately during and after the occurrence of an
earthquake.
To the Teachers , that will deal with their students and can be their guide for evacuation and
preparedness in case of earthquake.
To the Parents, to ensure the safety of their children when the earthquake happens and also for their
selves.
To the Future Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology Personnel, for providing a
creative way of explaining earthquake drill.
To the Future Researchers, this will serve as their additional knowledge regarding from the topic.
Slide_ Methodology: Sobrevega
Developmental Research design was used for this study. As for testing acceptability of the
animation, the descriptive research design was used.

The Level of impact of The World is Shaking: An Animated Video on Earthquake Drill is Highly
Acceptable with the mean of 3.98 and 3.37. Where at the right side shows the scale and interpretation.
Scale Interpretation
3.26-4.00 Highly Acceptable
2.51-3.25 Acceptable
1.76-2.50 Not Acceptable
1.00-1.75 Not Highly Acceptable
Slide_Conclusion: Fernandez
This implies that the animation created in this study can be used as an educational tool about natural
disasters (earthquake) for preparedness and awareness.
Slide_Recommendations: Articuna
Based on the results of the study, the following recommendations were made:
    1. Continue to upgrade the content and audio of the animated video for natural disasters.
    2. Consider other situations that can be added to the animation.
    3. Beautify the design of character, background, font and color.
