1) The accused, Elvin Boy Cabantugan, was indicted on three counts of violating RA 7610 and the prosecution recommended a bail of Php 200,000 for each count for his provisional liberty. 2) As a student without an income, the accused cannot afford the recommended bail amount. 3) The accused is begging the court to reduce the bail to Php 100,000 for each count so that he can raise the amount with help from family and friends. 4) The accused undertakes that he will not evade trial and will obey court orders as he desires to prove his innocence.

VERY URGENT MOTION TO REDUCE BAIL

Accused, through counsel, to this Honorable Court respectfully states


that:

1. Accused Elvin Boy Cabantugan was indicted by the Prosecution for


three (3) counts of violation of the provisions of RA 7610 where the
bail recommended for his provisional liberty amounted to TWO
HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS (Php 200,000.00) each count;

2. Accused cannot afford the amount of the bail for being a mere
student and not having any source of income;

3. If the Honorable Court, however, reduces the amount of the


recommended bail, Accused may be able to raise the amount with the
help of family and friends;

4. Accused begs the compassion of this Honorable Court to consider the


foregoing predicament and to reduce the above-mentioned
recommended bail to ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS (Php
100,000.00) each count;

5. He undertakes that he will not evade the trial of the above-entitled


case and commit that he will obey the lawful orders of this
Honorable Court considering that he is desirous to prove innocence.

PRAYER

WHEREFORE, premises considered, it is most respectfully prayed if


this Honorable Court that the bail for Accused’s provisional liberty be
reduced from Php 200,000.00 to Php 100,000.00 each count which he
intends to post in cash.

Other reliefs and remedies just and equitable under the premises are
likewise prayed for.
