Introduction
Some days you need to be a carpenter to build a door,
some days, just an average person cutting a window of
opportunity in the middle.
Nevertheless, either you are a hard worker looking for a
job, or a leader searching for employees, the following
presentation will provide you ways about how to locate
and evaluate resources in virtual world.
Three different resources will be presented in details,
with some of their advantages and disadvantages.
LinkedIn
• Founded in 2003, LinkedIn is the largest social
network targeting the professionals in searching for a
career or partners in their business.
• In 2020, the network has over 600 million members
globaly and is permanently increasing (Lunden,
2019).
• Their mission is simple, bring all professionals in one
place and make them productive and successful

Escape the City
In their desire of creating a new platform for people to find the
job or business they have been dreaming of, founders Rob and
Dom came up in 2010 with Escape the City.
The online community is estimated at 300.000 members who
thought life is too short to do tasks you do not love and signed
up for this different movement.
As the owners said, their mission is to liberate people from old
corporate drudgery into a passionate, autonomous, and fulfilling
world (escapethecity, 2020).

Indeed
According to their website, Indeed is the first job site in
the world. It has over 250 million unique visitors every
month, 150 milion CVs, 10 jobs added per second
worldwide (indeed, 2020).
Their mission is to offer jobs to as many people as
possible, and for that, Indeed became the first
aggregated search engine for any job you can find online
(Ansari, 2018).

Conclusions
Ever since the internet became a constant and undeniable tool
among us, people have used it for making their life easier.
Searching for a job is no facile when you have to take into
consideration your skills, experience, time, and competition.
Websites like LinkedIn, Escape the City, and Indeed provided
advantages and disadvantages they have, letting us choose the
right one according to our needs.
In addition, I would say that no matter the platform you select,
you have to carefully go toward a job you really like to do.
