Dabur Company’s Report

Dabur is one of the top leading industry India and also contributes a large share in Ayurvedic
FMCG business. FMCG(Fast moving consumer good) products which consumers use in day to
day life and which are targeted for middle class people in India.

In the mid-1880s, Dr. S.K. Burman, an Ayurvedic practitioner in Kolkata, concocted medicines
for diseases like cholera and malaria. He went on to set up Dabur India Ltd in 1884 to mass-
produce his Ayurvedic formulations. His son, C.L. Burman, set up Dabur's first R&D unit. The
current chairman, Dr. Anand Burman, and vice-chairman Amit Burman, are part of the fifth
generation of the Burman family. The Burmans were among the first business families in India
to separate ownership from management when they handed over the management of the

Dabur name was coined from the name Daktar Burman, “Da” from “Dakter” and “Bur” from
“Burman”. They further expanded their business by establishing their first research laboratory
in 1919. And in the following year 1920 they started their first manufacturing plant. In 1972
they set up another manufacturing unit at Faridabad. Later on for the Research and
Development Plant was open in Sahibabad which is the biggest in DABUR L.T.D. A health care
center in Buddi, Himachal Pradesh was established in 1993 which treated many patients.

From the early ages Dabur was considered a family business until recently in 1998 when they
decided to hire professionals to manage the company. Furthermore they separated the
company into three divisions namely, Healthcare, Product Division, and Dabur Ayurvedic. Dabur
consist of more than 250 herbal and Ayurvedic products, other than this there are 5 flagship
brands, which are as follows. Dabur, Vatika, Hajmola, Real, Fem. Dabur sell products which are
mostly related to healthcare products like, a)Dabur Amla Hair Oil, b) Dabur Red Paste c) Dabur
Chyamanprash, d) Dabur Honey e)Odonil f)Odomos g)Pudin Hara. Vatika products
manufactured like Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil, Vatika Health Shampoo, Vatika Anti-
Dandruff Shampoo, Vatika Jasmine Hair Oil, Hajmola Candy, Real Fruit Juices, Fem Oxy Bleach.

Dabur’s each product crossed 100 and 1000Cr. Mark and was 2 nd in place after Patanjali.

The products are Dabur toothpaste which crossed billion Rs. Mark, Real, Vatika and Amla

According to the annual reports 2017-2018 of Dabur Company achieved Consolidated Revenue
from Operations of ` 7,748 crore, growing by 6.9% after adjusting for currency and GST impact.
Consolidated Net Profit for 2017-18 stood at ` 1,354 Crore, increasing by 6.1% over previous
year.

Dabur’s Revenue was calculated ` 7,748.3 crore in 2018 Operating Marginwas 20.9%, Net Profit
` 1,354.4 crore were shown in annual reports. The Market Capitalization as on 31st March 2018
was ` 57,602 crore. 16 no. of Brands with turnover of over ` 100 crore calculated. Dabur
currently have 12 No. of Manufacturing Locations in India , It Reported a 7%increase in
production at 2018 fiscal year, They consist of 8 No. of Manufacturing Locations Overseas ,
Increase in OEE% (Overall Equipment Efficiency) is at best-ever level of 2.5%.

Turnover crossed over 1000Cr. in 2000 just after 2 year of making business handling the
business,

In 2006 its market value was more than 200B$,and in 20015 it increased to 5B$.There are more
than 6 M outlets around the world and alliance with amazon was a great part of going online in
this world of Digital technologies
