Integration Goal #1: Creating a multimedia video presentation that will help me to better
present my assignment.

Book Talk Self-Assessment/ Presentation


The Book Talk Self-Assessment in my ED 3503 Language in Education course is due October
21st at 11:50pm via Moodle drobox. However, my individual talk with my group is due October
6th, 2020 over our zoom breakout room. Creating a Bitable video would help aid me with my
book talk presentation in my literacy class. While working in a small group setting, we would use
an appropriate technology to stream the video that presented my chosen book. I would play this
video to my group members which would create a more interactive and engaging atmosphere
for all. I would pre-record audio from the text in the book that would voice over the closely
related images found in the video. I have never created a video on Bitable before. I am excited
to reach this goal and experience something new and out of my comfort zone.

By providing a multisensory reading experience, multimedia versions of storybooks aid


comprehension.

Tech Tool/App Description and Rationale:


The tech tool/app that fits the book talk assessment is Bitable (https://biteable.com). Bitable
allows the user to make stunning videos in a snap with the Bitable video maker. It provides
studio-quality animation, footage, and effects. Bitable provides clear steps on how to first pick a
template and then how you edit/customize it to your liking. With this tech tool, I’m able to add my
own recorded audio, images, and scenes. These are some of the reasons why I have chosen
Bitable as my preferred app/tech tool.

Integration Goal #2: Creating a multimedia iMovie presentation that will help me to better
present my journal assignment.

Literacy Writing Journal Portfolio (one paragraph):

The Literacy Writing Journal Portfolio in my Ed 3503 Language in Education course is due
October 20th at 11:59pm via Moodle drobox. Creating an iMovie for this digital narrative
assignment would help aid me in this literacy class. I would choose an old folklore, the
expressive body of culture shared by a particular group of people, that I would turn into movie
format. I will incorporate the use of pictures and voiced over audio of me telling the story. I don’t
have much experience in iMovie, GarageBand, or the voice memos app. I am excited and
fascinated with these multimedia approaches and hope to obtain some new knowledge within a
new experience.

Tech Tool/App Description and Rationale (one paragraph):

I would pre-record this audio on my voice memos app on my iPhone. I would then air drop the
audio to either my laptop desktop or right into iMovie. For my Digital Narrative I would like to
retell the folk tale of how Chief Mountain came to be, by using images found on Google and in
art museums. This would better represent the folk tale by showcase indigenous paintings like a
portrait of “War Chief”, who’s face you can still see in the mountain today. To bring my movie
(Digital Narrative) full circle I would like to find some indigenous music on either YouTube or
GarageBand. I find it so intriguing that these tales have been passed down from generation to
generation and that this mountain still remains a sacred place to many First Nations peoples.
