Answer 1

Nosocomial infections, also known as hospital-acquired infections, infect patients through contact with infected healthcare workers, other patients, or medical equipment. The most common causes in western countries are Clostridium difficile and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Microbes primarily spread through direct contact, so it is important to avoid unnecessary contact with infected individuals and properly sterilize equipment. Improper antibiotic usage can also lead to antibiotic-resistant strains. Proper diagnosis and treatment are necessary to prevent life-threatening risks, while prevention relies on strict sterilization procedures, isolation of infected patients, hygiene practices among staff and patients, and protective equipment.

Clostridium difficile a bacterium considered as the main source of nosocomial infection in
western countries.
Staph. Aureus is the bacteria which shows resistance to some anti biotics and can be acquired
through Nosocomial Infections.
Microbes may chiefly spread through direct contact. So, avoid unnecessary contact with infected
or suspected healthcare workers or patients.
It is mandatory to sterilize medical instruments like forceps, scissors, nebulizer and ventilator,
syringes etc.
Improper and unnecessary usage of anti-biotics which leads to resistance of certain bacterial
strains to multiple anti biotics. These cases increase due to lack of training of healthcare workers,
that’s why it comes under the category of healthcare acquired infection.
Diagnoses and Treatment
Diagnoses and Treatment necessary or HAIs if diagnosed properly then treatment can make swift
recovery.
If not diagnosed and treated properly, there is a life risk.
Prevention
Healthcare professionals and workers should follow SOPs for sterilization and dis-infection.
Medical facilities should be standardized and upgraded to deal with Nosocomial Infection.
Screened patients should be isolated.
Mention the degree of isolation.
Personal hygiene should be prioritized for both patients and healthcare workers.
