INTRODUCTION
Every kid, even the researcher has gone through a phase in their life
where they always wanted to be anyone. She has aspired to be a Teacher,
Astronaut, Nurse, Doctor, Firefighter anything that the researcher could be.
But as the researcher became more mature in her life, her mind is gradually
changing, and that is acceptable for the reason that she was exposed to do a
lot of things.
When the researcher was just a kid, she always wanted to be a teacher
for the reason that she wanted to play with other kids, that sounds absurd
but it is true. She also wanted to be a doctor seeing that she always wanted to
help everyone that is in pain. Another thing that the researcher had aspired
to be is being a Culinary Chef, well it is because the researcher loves food,
who does not?
The researcher thinks that it is just natural to shift from one dream to
another and to another, seeing that as we grow older we are being exposed
to a lot of things and some of those things happened to be one that you have
learned to love and some are just you are not fond of.

Now that the researcher is about to finish senior high school, she must
make her final decision in what dream she is gonna chase when the time has
come.
Thinking of a job is easy, but finding one that will suit your personality
and fondness of things that surrounds you is hard. From the top 6 jobs that
match the researcher; Life Coach, Archaeologist, Park Naturalist, Accountant,
Forest and Conservation Worker, Wildlife Enforcement Officer, the researcher
chose to investigate and gather datas to study and to know several things
about being an Accountant.
The researcher’s objective upon making this study is to gain knowledge
and awareness on what are the things the readers need to know about this
certain career.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION
The purpose of this research paper is to discover things about being an
Accountant. It will cover general information and data such as what
accountants do everyday and how much salary they are getting upon doing
their career/job.
The researcher gathered data from various online sources such as
Indeed, All Business School, Local Pulse, Monster and American International
University for its secondary data.
Other than getting information through websites the researcher also
got its information through the medium of interviewing two Accountants, to
get information and get to know them thoroughly for the most part to the
job that they are currently in, and to show beyond doubt the things that the
researcher acquired from them.
The purpose of this research paper is to smoke out facts that could help
the readers through things that you should know in being an accountant. It
will cover the basic information on the said career, just like what are the

things they do on the daily basis, their income pay, and skills needed in this
field.
This research paper allocates details in becoming an Accountant, its
duties and responsibilities on the said career. The paper also consists of what
are the advantages and disadvantages when working as an accountant.
The paper also contains what schools perform best in teaching
accountancy, as well as what qualifications and skills that are necessary or
required in this career.
The research papers are for those people who aspire to be an
Accountant. This research paper will be beneficial to them for the reason that
the readers will discover the information in connection with accounting.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
Upon doing this study, the researcher found out that there are no
published research papers on being an Accountant. There are a lot of articles,
blogs, facts, and opinions of different variations where the researcher can get
the datas that she needs for this study. However, there are no research papers
that you could rely on for guides along with information for those who aim to
be an accountant, and also for the things that you have to know in this field of
job.
SKILLS NEEDED
According to American International University there are several things
that an accountant must learn in order to get this job and to succeed in this
field in terms of skills.
She or he must learn how to assess decisions and employ methods for
improving decision making since the accountant also helps with making
decisions for the company or organization to be financially healthy.

Skill in applying team building and leadership skills, skills on applying
mathematical, statistical and research techniques to analyze contemporary
business practices and functions.
Applying the concepts and principles of finance and accounting to
make effective decisions for the company or organizations you will soon be
working with.
Discussing current operations management practices and principles
used in the current business environment. Understand the relationship
between macroeconomics and microeconomics concepts and their
applications in the management of domestic and global organizations.
You will be able to learn to discuss the implications of technology and
the internet on today's businesses. Communicate effectively in business
situations.
Recognize and manage potential ethical and legal conflicts plan and
control operations through budgets, responsibility centers and cost
managements.

According to All Business Schools the qualifications that you will need
to have in order to be in this job are ‘Extreme Organizations’ which means
you have to be thoroughly organized with all the work that you will be doing,
in this way you will surely understand what you did and you will not get
confused nor perplexed with your own work.
You will also have to enhance your skill in terms of ‘Analytical Bent'. This
is the ability to visualize, articulate, and solve both complex and
uncomplicated problems and concepts and make decisions that are sensical
based on available information.
‘Sharp Eye’ for detail, one of the qualifications in accounting where you
have to figure out every little detail because once you have one mistake,
everything will be wrong too.
‘Structured Work Style’ is the most common in larger organizations. It
involves clear specific tasks that are expected to be done in a certain order at
a certain time. This just means that your work has to be well documented
and scheduled.

‘Aptitude for Technology’ means that you will be skillful in terms of
using technology since accountants usually work with the help of technology.
This includes the ability to use technologies as intended by the designers.
INCOME PAY
We all know that the income pay in this field of job is generous, but the
salary will also differ according to what position you are in, how huge of a
contribution you are giving in the organization or company that you are
working with, also the experience you have had in this work will also vary in
terms of your income pay.

EDUCATION
We all know that Studying Accounting is not easy, everything is not
easy from the start, howbeit before you know it you will catch all the things
you have to learn in this field.
Schools such as De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas,
University of the Philippines- Diliman, Far Eastern University, and Holy Angel
University, Angeles City are the top schools that are majoring in accounting.
In the aftermath it is not about the academy or school that you went into, it
is up to you if you decide to hit the books well.

METHODS AND RESULTS
To get realistic results of what being an Accountant is like, the
researcher has read some blogs, watched videos for her to obtain some
information that could help her with these research papers. The researcher
also interviewed two accountants to assure the things she wants to grasp in
this said career.
THE INTERVIEW
Accountant # 1:
1. W
hat do you do as an Accountant?
Accountant's primary function is to organize financial data and
make recommendations based on that data.
2. Do you find yourself struggling at some point? If yes, in what aspect/s?
My answer is yes, and no. Some aspects of accounting can be
complex and hard, but it requires hard work and studying just like
other college classes. Not to mention, if you look past the cons and
starts to look at the advantages of becoming an accountant, the time
and energy you devote to learning are more than worth it.

hat are the Advantages of being an Accountant?
One of the advantages of being in this field is that the pay range
in this job is very generous, another thing is you’ll have a better
understanding of finances.

The downfall of this job is your work can be stressful, imagine you
are responsible for an organization’s finances, that can get you to be
pressured at times.

Not really.

Helping them keep track of their bills and their receivables and
that everything gets paid on time, also providing a company their financial
reports as soon as possible so they could make decisions for their company.

Analyzing some datas and the pressure is also inevitable since
there is a company that relies on you.

The advantage of being this field is that you can enhance your
skills in critical thinking and that you will be able to think out of the box and
also your skills in communicating. With the things that I have learned in
accounting it is possible for me to handle my own business one day.

Doing the same thing repetitively can make the work more tiring
than it is. You have to train yourself to focus on your work despite the
pressure that you are receiving.
5. Do I have to be good at math in order to get this job?
I thought at first in my younger years that you have to be good at
math in order for you to be in this job but it was just a myth, you just need to
enrich your thinking skill and like what I said earlier you have to think out of
the box to analyze some things.

We have to conduct financial investigations and audits and
prepare reports about the financial health of the organization.

CONCLUSION
At the time of performing this study, the researcher was enlightened
through a great quantity of things. In the final analysis there are beliefs from
people that turned out to be true and accurate while some turned out to be
inaccurate.
The researcher learned that this job has a lot of advantages among
which can improve the quality of your skills in critical thinking and that you
will be capable of thinking out of the box . You will also be able to augment
your skills to communicate better for the people around you.
In addition to its advantages in this career is that the pay range is
superabundant, you will be able to support your family’s daily necessities.
Once you commit yourself into this field of work you will acquire a knowledge
of better understanding in finances.
Like all other things Accounting also has its own inconveniences. We all
expect that this job is aggravating, yes. That is by reason of there is a
company that relies on their work, their decision. They get pressured on the
grounds that they are responsible for an organization’s financial health.

The researcher believes that it was never easy in this career,
nevertheless if she has the ability or skills needed for Accounting. Skills in
Extreme Organizations, Analytical Bent, Sharp Eye, Structure work Style,
Aptitude for Technology. These are the things that you have to intensify or
augment if you wanted to be an Accountant.
From the study that the researcher did, she found out that most
Accountants are not that good at math subjects to be able to commit
themselves in this field of job. You only need to think voluminously, you have
to augment your skills in thinking out of the box, to this extent you will be
able to attain good outcomes.
