Math & Reading Tutor April 2018 - Present
• Designed some of the curriculum, tutor 40-50 K-9 students in Math and Reading and grade their
assignments
• Trained, mentored, and evaluated approximately 6+ new employees on a yearly basis
• Occasionally operated the business and ensure the smooth operation of management level tasks
such as scheduling, tutoring/grading, and managing payments

Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America 6 hours/week

• Completed my Eagle service project by building benches to seat senior citizens at a religious
center, and received my Eagle rank – an achievement I am truly proud of
• Conceived, led, and successfully set up a scheduling system that allowed Troop leaders to match
Scout training requirements easily and effectively to appropriate Scouts and Instructors
• Actively participated in the flag program for my Troop. The program helped encourage patriotism in
the community and served as a source of income for the Troop
• Successfully completed several leadership-based activities such as Citizenship in the community,
Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, Communication etc., as part of my rank advancements as well as
earning my Scout Merit Badges
• Organized and led community clean up events on behalf of my Troop
• Took on various leadership roles ranging from librarian to Assistant Senior Patrol leader and

• Member of an elite team of 33 cohorts selected from approximately 25,000 students enrolled in
over 11 High Schools in the district
• Coordinated and conducted a workshop to study the feeder pattern for my High school with a view
to organize cultural events that helped strengthen the bonds within the community
• Led the creation of an instructional and informational video that highlighted the importance of
being a “compassionate citizen” as part of an Elementary school conference. Personally, I found this
to be very rewarding as I managed to complete this challenge successfully despite all the restrictions
that were brought upon by the Pandemic
• Played an active role in the community by voicing the students’ opinions to the school district
leaders and helping them make informed decisions and changes, as well as by organizing service
projects to give back to the community
• In my Senior year, I am planning to volunteer and complete projects for Fort Bend Literacy Council
• Pandemic conditions permitting, there is also a plan to meet with the Texas State Legislature to
discuss the topic of enhancing education policies by addressing specific areas for improvement
Member, Houston chapter of the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP) 4 hours/week

• The program focused on Leadership in the following key areas – Politics/Government,
Philanthropy/Charity, Science/Technology, Business/Entrepreneurship and Culture/Art
• Actively engaged with and interviewed recognized community leaders at organizations such as
Houston Food Bank, Lighthouse of Houston, Harris County Civil Court system etc., to get a detailed
understanding of the leadership and outreach these organizations provide to the community
• Presented (public speaking) key learnings that pertained to the various challenges and the different
management styles required to overcome them, based on articles from the Harvard Business Review
book on Leadership, as well as insights gained from my visits and interviews with the community
leaders
• Organized and participated in a march with my cohorts, in Downtown Houston, to commemorate
Martin Luther King Day, as part of my service project

• Provided museum tours for Pre-K kids as part of their field trip and explained various scientific
concepts to them, answered their queries and conducted demonstrations and experiments
• Manned various stations that included fossils, microscopes, amphibians etc.
• Participated in a live stream Facebook session and spoke about the highlights and benefits of
the sci-teen program for prospective volunteers
