[리치] [오후 5:20] I like BotW's graphics and how the earlier technology glows so much, in the murk.
It's exciting. It's not ancient astronauts, in that game because, in BotW, it's about a civilization that
had higher technology, but regressed back to medieval times. Sad but not as sad as a world that
ended (went back to Stone Age times). You can kind of see it in TP, with the ruins of older castles,
from the OoT Hero of Time era.
[리치] [오후 5:22] or in WW, where all of Old Hyrule is underwater, like Atlantis, from ancient times.
TP alluded to this in another way, by placing the Mirror of Twilight, a higher technology, in the
Roman Coliseum-like Arbiter's Grounds. Ancient times had plumbing and were relatively advanced, by
the Roman era, but technology regressed or stalled, until the Age of Exploration and the Industrial
Age once the Roman Empire fell.
[리치] [오후 5:23] BotW went for the more realistic hypothesis, one that actual happened, in real life,
since there is no proof of ancient astronauts, or that a higher civilization went to Atlantis or another
dimension, like in TP
[리치] [오후 5:25] a gradual decay, instead of a hyper-dramatic, but more unrealistic collapse of
civilization
I like the humor of BotW. And all the shipping content is a return to OoT
[리치] [오전 4:09] Link is gay <3
[리치] [오전 5:03] I like Hestu
[리치] [오전 5:35] I love this game and I love it's dialog
I love Breath of the Wild. It is the best Zelda game. Obviously OoT and MM are like classics and
Wind Waker is my favorite but BotW successfully builds on all the greatness that came before it, to
build a truly superb game
[리치] [오후 8:36] I like watching the treasure quests, in BotW, because the scenery is truly beautiful
and you really get a sense of the overall feel of the game, what production was going for.
[리치] [오후 8:58] the story is important but Legend of Zelda is also about exploration
[리치] [오후 9:14] I love the Koroks
[리치] [오후 9:23] even in its ruin, Hyrule is beautiful
[리치] [오후 9:26] it's better than Lord of the Rings now. or Game of Thrones. BotW is the best Zelda.
I don't how they could top it
[리치] [오후 10:32] The Kakariko Village music reminds me of Okami. I love it.
[리치] [오후 11:43] I'm glad for the Korok seed adventures, because I immediately recognized the
picture, with the two statues, you had to give apples to.
[리치] [오후 11:48] the recovered Link memories are deep
2020년 8월 17일 월요일
[리치] [오전 12:32] The stories of Dorian and Koko were really deep
[리치] [오전 12:50] I love how the Shrines' music is like the Temple of the Gods, in WW, and the
Lanayru Mining Facility combined
[리치] [오전 12:51] (I love a ton of things about BotW, but I am saving my commentary for the end)
[리치] [오전 1:14] "Also the house you buy was formerly owned by someone who left for the castle
and never came back. Was it possibly Link's home before he set out 100 years ago to become Zelda's
appointed knight?" Cool theory from the walkthrough creator. It's like when Link had a cabana, in
Wind Waker
[리치] [오전 1:14] I love how much they brought back from Wind Waker, while also fusing it with
other games and integrating WW more into the series
[리치] [오전 1:15] Bolson is also another Legend of Zelda gay character <3
[리치] [오전 5:06] Sidon x Link begins now 😁. This is the ship that made the game famous. This is
the best video game, not just the best Legend of Zelda game
[리치] [오전 5:23] I love how the Korok seeds expand inventory in this game
[리치] [오전 6:09] The game ships Sidon and Link too. Obvious Brokeback Mountain reference. And
they met as kids. This is the best video game
[리치] [오전 7:50] Link and Sidon are a couple 😂
[리치] [오전 1:50] I love that you can sell tons of things, in this game.
[리치] [오전 2:11] maybe Bolson was the former hero of time lol
[리치] [오전 2:22] it's important to have gay mentors
[리치] [오전 2:22] Bolson and Karson are together lol
[리치] [오전 2:29] best Zelda game ever. I can say it is the best Legend of Zelda in a while, taking all
the best from Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword.
[리치] [오전 9:51] I love exploring the countryside in this game
[리치] [오전 11:01] Gruve is gay too 💖
[리치] [오전 11:05] Ploymus = Olympus
[리치] [오후 11:14] I love the treasure and questing, out in the regions, in this game
2020년 8월 18일 화요일
[리치] [오전 1:30] I love how they can now do a flock of keese, in this game, like straight out of
Dracula or Castlevania
[리치] [오전 1:56] I love all the Korok seeds, the combat scenes and the map, at different
magnification levels.
[리치] [오전 2:00] There's so many nice touches: the Mario-style houses in Hateno, the islands named
after Phantom Hourglass characters, the gay carpenters from OoT, the Guardian drones as a call-back
to the ghost aliens who abduct cows in MM, the Sheikah shop owner doing a call back to the MM
bank teller with her opening dialog, the big game on a spit like in MM and TP, wizrobes, the covered
wagons from MM and TP, Beedle, Tingle Island...I could go on; I love it all
[리치] [오전 2:02] the game definitely deserves to be called one of the best video games of all time
and be one of the best-selling video games, of all time. Before and after the 25th Anniversary,
production truly studied the whole series and timeline and incorporated it into an amazing game that
takes the best of Minecraft, Okami and all the Zelda games, especially Ocarina of Time to Skyward
Sword
[리치] [오전 2:07] I like how you can get so many different types of weapons, with different attack
and defense levels, that are grouped by culture and region. I like the call-back to the Wind Waker
Picto-box with the camera rune/app. I love how you can cook, like in Harvest Moon, and even have
failed dishes. I love that the Sheikah/Twili people finally get their due and the futuristic ancient
technology, and the shrines came from them, and how they are tied to WW's Tower of the Gods. I
love how they used the region...
[리치] [오전 3:10] The scenery and the shots are just amazing. I enjoy getting a feel for the region.
[리치] [오전 3:26] (and of course Prince Sidon is a reference to Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of
the sea)
[리치] [오전 5:44] I like the different full suits of armor for each region ^^
[리치] [오전 6:30] from the fact that the ancient Sheikah have shrines and Divine Beast ancient
machines, all over Hyrule, in BotW, and created the army of Guardians, it's clear that they created the
Dogu robots, the Lanayru mining scheme, and the Faron and Eldin temples, in Skyward Sword. Impa
is already on the surface when Link and Zelda get there.
[리치] [오전 6:34] From the Sheikah, after Skyward Sword, the Twili branched off, (probably from the
Yiga) and went to the Twilight Realm, after creating Majora's Mask and the Fused Shadows. The
Sheikah (and possibly also the Yiga) created the Shadow Temple, in OoT. The Gerudo are their own
separate people, but later the Mirror of Twilight, from the Gate of Time, in SkS, ended up in their
territory, and in the Spirit Temple, and later the Arbiter's Grounds
[리치] [오전 6:36] the Sheikah are like the original people of the world, whereas the Hylians went up
to Skyloft, after Demise Ganon, and came back down. I am glad that BotW elucidates their timeline
and their major contributions, to the history of Hyrule. For example, the Bridge of Eldin, to the
Sheikah-made salamander Divine Beast, of Eldin, is Sheikah, even though, it's in Goron territory
[리치] [오전 6:38] I like Yunobo's storyline. He deserves better.
[리치] [오전 6:57] when you are going past the Sentries, in BotW, is like the erupted Eldin Volcano
stealth mission, in Skyward Sword, The song is another version of the music that plays when you face
the incarnation of Gohma that is bothering Valoo, in Wind Waker. This fire temple began the game
and is one of the better fire temples. Good reference
[리치] [오전 7:21] I am just blown away by the beauty of this game. The temple and battles within
the Divine Beast ancient machines are so awesome. The regions are breathtaking. I like the combat
scenes, where if you make a subtle dodge, the bullet time Matrix effect starts, and time slows down,
and you can get in a flurry of attacks. Like Keanu Reeve's other film series: gun fu in John Wick
[리치] [오전 7:35] I like how the Divine Beast powers imparted by the new sages (or sage successors),
in BotW, are like the magical powers for the three Goddesses, in OoT: Din's Fire, Faore's Wind and
Nayru's Love
[리치] [오전 7:40] Ruta was pretty good but Rudania is pretty awesome. You can't top shadow and
flame (Balrog, Lord of the Rings). A battle in a volcano's mouth is epic. Plus, the first part of the
temple/ancient beast is done in darkness (a callback to the erupted volcano stealth missions, in this
game and Skyward Sword)
[리치] [오전 7:46] The Hylians went up to the sky/lower atmosphere and then returned but maybe
the technology of the Sheikah (who never left, and were there from time immemorial, from before
the time of Demise and Hylia) was from space. The Ark of Yamato, from Okami seems to imply this.
[리치] [오전 7:48] I love how BotW, continues to borrow from Okami (this has been going on since
Twilight Princess, with wolf Link and Twilight regions/cursed zones) with thunder powers, the design
of fire blades, and cat paw towers, as well as powers, like stasis, that manipulate time, and cryonic
(ice) powers. Okami, Atlantis, and the Wind Waker Tower of the Gods, inspired the awesome aesthetic
of the Shrines and Divine Beasts
[리치] [오전 7:50] From the time the "old man" turned out to be the King of Hyrule, as a poe/ghost -
just like how the King of Red Lions was the King of Hyrule, in Wind Waker - I loved BotW. I love how
Koroks and ChuChus are back. The graphics of BotW combine the beauty of WW, with the realism of
Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword
[리치] [오전 7:56] Similar to Demise, in Skyward Sword, or Majora, Calamity Ganon is a more
figurative villain, representing major catastrophes and natural disasters. However, with all the ancient
futurism of the Sheikah, it's also reminiscent of space parasite Yami (darkness), that came over, from
space, on the Ark of Yamato. One Yami villain is named Blight, after literal disease; all of the Divine
Beast Ganon bosses are elemental blights.
[리치] [오전 7:59] Another more obvious connection is how one major Yami boss, Orochi, brings
calamity during a red eclipse of the moon; in BotW, Calamity Ganon regenerates all his monsters
during a blood moon.
[리치] [오전 8:30] The conclusion of the Yunobo story was good
[리치] [오전 8:31] I like how the tops of the Sheikah Towers and Divine Beast control room terminals
look like peahats, a good sight to see, if you needed to hookshot to defeat a boss or move across
high places, like in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword
[리치] [오전 8:40] Not connected, but I find it funny that Super Mario 64 has 120 stars and BotW has
120 Sheikah Shrines
[리치] [오전 8:49] I won't get into all of the map location name references now, because obviously
there are many, but two favorites, that stand out: Lanayru region wetland islands named after
Phantom Hourglass characters and Gero Pond, in Goron territory, like the frog (gero gero is ribbit in
Japanese) pond, in MM's Goron region, after it's unfrozen
[리치] [오전 8:52] I also like that there are many artists, bards/musicians, historians, researchers and
scientists in this game. It's a testament to the many lens through which one can appreciate Link's
journey and Link's researcher friends in TP. I like the PhD doctor who helps link find the statue that
unlocks a shrine, hidden underground: Dr. Calip
[리치] [오전 8:59] Minecarts, from Lanayru, in Skyward Sword, are back, this time, in Eldin, over lava -
and they're bomb powered. It's cool. The Goron design is particularly good in this game. I like that
they brought back the sumo wrestling and mining of Twilight Princess. The gorons even have hard
hats.
[리치] [오전 9:01] In the Goron flame suit, Link truly looks like an (ancient) astronaut, exploring
another lava world. I thought of The Martian, several times (I read the book and saw some of the
movie). It also looks like a Lego astronaut. The Divine beasts look like bionicles, in a clever way - like
the huge sets you'd use to build Rahi beasts
[리치] [오전 9:02] Ruta is an elephant, central to water-centric cultures of ancient India and Southeast
Asia. Rudania is a salamander, the ancient magickal and elemental spirit associated with fire
[리치] [오전 9:21] other things I like: descriptions of weapons, drops and ingredients; the stats, tips
and Divine Beast animations on the loading screen; the mural of Ganon, Zelda and Link, that
resembles murals in Wind Waker's opening and Skyward Sword as well as ancient Indian epics; that
you can do headshots with arrows and that when a weapon breaks, during a strike, it will deal more
damage
[리치] [오전 9:24] I also like how there is day and night, in this game and weather - and that the
Sheikah Slate/tablet/cell phone tells the time, weather and temperature. I like how mobs are smarter
in this game: they will pick up rocks to throw at you, bombs and their shields or dropped weapons.
They also sleep and dance and talk to each other. They have their own culture and weapons, and you
can make use of their weapons. Their history also includes wars with the good races, like the Zoras
[리치] [오전 9:25] I like how at night, similar to OoT, all the mobs become Stal (skeleton) mobs of
themselves. Nice touch.
[리치] [오전 9:31] I like the wide variety of the small details, in the designs of the Koroks and Sheikah
monks, in the Shrines. Through the Sheikah mark, on the face of the monk, I realized that the Sheikah
eye isn't just an eye toward away evil (like the Hamsa), but also a Third Eye, like the bhindi, in Indian
culture. In OoT, this is the Lens of Truth, a Sheikah tool. Finally, Zora architecture is utterly amazing,
like the elves of Rivendell and Lothlorien, in Lord of the Rings
[리치] [오전 9:36] The Rito are also back, in BotW, and exist at the same time as the Zora (!). The Rito
symbol is also on the paraglider, an item that comes from the King of Hyrule, and speaks to Hyrule's
roots in Skyloft. The Great Plateau reminds me of the real-life Great Central Asian (or Eurasian)
Steppe, which is pivotal in Europe and all of Eurasian history, from the prehistoric Silk Road, until now
(along with the Great Northern European Plain)
[리치] [오전 9:37] I like the focus on the map and geography in this game. Truly an amazing example
of the Minecraft open-world paradigm
[리치] [오전 9:50] The four Divine Beasts, in BotW, are like the four Giants, in MM and Calamity
Ganon is the Majora Moon
[리치] [오전 10:05] There's even a BotW Goron side quest that, in a way, references the famous line
from the very first Legend of Zelda game: "It's a secret to everybody." A slight change in the
translation, that became a memeable phrase
