BIRAT BIKAS MANCH-BBM, KTM
(Ex- Students Mills Ma. Vi residing Kathmandu)
Background:
Thought of ex students of Mills, Madhyamik Vidyalaya, living in Kathmandu Valley to assist Mills Schools including other schools
surrounding Mills Area Rani Sikiyahi, Biratnagar, Morang, led in forming a non profit organization registering as a company in
Kathmandu collecting Rs. 11,000 from interested ex students to sustain cooperation in short term and long term basis. The promoters
contributed Rs. 11,000- each as founders. Ex students are entitled to pay Rs. 9,000-each as life member. Each founder and Life
members have to pay Rs. 1,000- extra as a primary logistic cost to support BBM. In order to understand the areas of cooperation,,
support, difficulties faced by teachers, students and infrastructure facilities the rapid survey has produced important information for us
on which basis BBM can plan to develop program and undertake different activities to support our Mills Ma. Vi and other schools
within mills area in collaboration with local government, bodies, institutions, I/NGOs and individuals.
Objective:
To find out the current status of Mills Ma. Vi and other schools surrounding Mills Area for the support from BBM.
Methodology:
The rapid/quick survey was done in the 7 selected schools within the Mills Area, southern part of Biratnagar Metro adjoining with
Jogbani, Purniya, Bihar, India. Two sets of questionnaires were developed and administered to students and teachers of said schools.
The survey was conducted by Madhav Prasad Aryal, of BBM. During establishment process a rapid/quick survey of 7 schools (Annex
1) was completed having interaction with HTs / teachers from the end of Marga to first week of Paush 2075. The objective of survey
was to find out the areas of support by knowing the issues/problems faced by students and teachers during classroom learning and
teaching process. Interactions with teachers/HTs were held to find out issues, problems and solution appropriate to students, teachers,
schools and to BBM. The number of schools was seven (Repeated). The information received from said schools are shown in the table
