NON - GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS RELATED TO FAMILY

A. SOCIO-CIVIC ORGANIZATION

- A ‘civil’ organization will probably be a branch of local government, tasked with

fulfilling specific duties to or on behalf of society in general; sometimes of a
particular section. Either way that might include policing, education, social
housing, parks or traffic management.
- All formal organisations - companies, councils, charities or foundations are are
legally ‘corporate individuals’ which is to say in the same way we do, they ‘exist’
in law, have rights and duties, can make contracts, own things and sue or be
sued, though obvious difference is that while it might be fined, an organization
can’t be sent to gaol for a crime, even though its staff, officers, or directors
could.
- More importantly you or I as private individuals are, broadly, permitted to do
anything we like that is not specifically forbidden by law.
- By contrast they as corporate individuals, including organizations including civic
organizations are, broadly, forbidden from doing anything not specifically
authorized or licenced by law, as defined in their articles of association (or local
equivalent.)
Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP)
(Unverified non-profit organisation)
- PBSP is a private and non-profit foundation dedicated to promoting business
sector commitment to social development. Its guiding principle is “Helping
People Help Themselves.” Rising above traditional welfare approaches, PBSP
promotes the philosophy of efficiency, self-help and participation in improving
the quality of life of the underprivileged.
- PBSP is the largest business-led NGO at the forefront of strategic corporate
citizenship and business sector leadership contributing to sustainable
development and poverty reduction. Established in 1970, PBSP remains a
consultant and partner of choice of companies and donors.
- PBSP creates sustainable solutions to societal problems in its core program areas
which are Health, Education, Environment, and Livelihood and Enterprise
Development. It also provides off-the-shelf options for engagement of
companies and their employees.
Vision: To lead the business sector’s efforts to reduce poverty in the Philippines
Mission: PBSP is committed to poverty reduction by promoting business sector
leadership in, and commitment to programs that lead to self-reliance

B. RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION
- As organizations involved in issues of social and economic development, most of
the religious NGOs formulate their goals within fields of work such as
environmental protection, social justice, humanitarian aid, education and
culture.
- However, by virtue of their religiosity, they also introduce a new field of work –
namely religious promotion, understood here as a broad range of activities
related to strengthening or promotion of religion (most often one’s own, but
sometimes religion more generally).

Christian Aid Mission

- Christian Aid Mission seeks to establish a witness for Christ in every nation by
assisting indigenous ministries in lands of poverty, where Christians are a
persecuted minority, and where foreign missionaries are not allowed.
- We evaluate every indigenous ministry we assist to verify their faith, financial
integrity, and fruitfulness. Then we help them sustain and grow their work by
making their needs known to believers in developing nations who supply them
with prayer and financial support.
- The ministries we assist are fully independent and not affiliates of Christian Aid
Mission. They are led by evangelical Christians who live and work inside of their
own countries.
- Christian Aid Mission works with hundreds of indigenous ministries that share the
gospel of Christ with more than 2,000 unreached people groups in eight regions
of the world: Africa, China, Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, Middle East, South
Asia, Southeast Asia.

Mission: Assisting indigenous ministries based in areas of poverty or persecution, giving

priority to ministries sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with unreached people groups.

Vision: A Witness for Christ in Every Nation

Values: Christian Aid Mission is governed and staffed by evangelistic, Bible believing,
born again Christians who uphold the fundamental doctrines of historic evangelical
Christianity.

Unreached People Groups: Thousands of people groups are still unreached, yet only a
tiny fraction of global mission resources is directed toward reaching them. We assist
hundreds of indigenous ministries sharing the gospel with more than 2,000 unreached
people groups.

C. SCHOOL

- Education and Educational Leadership is both important for the improvement of

today's society. Without proper instruction and proper educational guidelines,
you will not be able to get as much knowledge as you need for your own self
improvement. Schools also need to focus on things that are just as important as
its teachers and their level of teaching, to make sure that the school functions
and facilities are enough for their student's Education and Educational
Leadership.

Islamic Studies, Call And Guidance School (ISCAG)

As the number of Filipinos entering the fold of Islam grew, a consistent follow-up
on their spiritual growth became a priority. Their ardent desire to share their new found
faith to their family, friends and to the rest of the Filipino people prompted a group of
converts from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to organize and form a non-stock and non-profit
organization giving birth to the Islamic, Studies, Call and Guidance of the Philippines
(ISCAG). By the grace of Allah, the center started its operations at a rented place in
Quezon City in 1991. The center initially served as an information office wherein Muslims
and non-Muslims can call or visit for information on the Islamic faith. Soon after, it started
its drive to spread the true message of Islam to the public. Five years later, in 1996, the
Center transferred to a newly bought property in Dasmarinas, Cavite. An administration
office, a prayer area, a visitor’s lounge and tailoring shop were then established. Since
then, ISCAG became more deeply involved in Da’wah activities and programs, and
gradually established itself as a recognized Da’wah organization in the Philippines.

Mission: to provide prayer facilities to the growing Muslim population, it has already
established seventeen (17) mosques in ,different communities with the assistance and
suppgrt of generous Muslim brothers from other countries’ ISCAG correspondingly
assigned Imams to serve as leaders in the mosque’s vicinity in guiding Muslims to
perform their obligations and to become peace-loving and law abiding citizens.

Objectives: to provide quality and affordable education to the youth, the first school
building was constructed in 1998 which marked another milestone in the history of
ISCAG.

The founders of ISCAG were instrumental in accomplishing various tasks and

responsibilities. Their only resources were their sacrifices, God given talents and
trustworthiness. It is then hoped that ISCAG, with its main objective of SHARING ISLAMIC
INFORMATION TOWARDS UNDERSTANDING, PEACE AND PROSPERITY OF THE NATION,
will leave a legacy that will serve as a source of inspiration to the next generations,
InshaAllah (God Willing).
