BMI, BMR, and Nutrition Formulas

This document discusses methods for calculating body mass index (BMI), desired body weight, basal metabolic rate (BMR), total energy requirement (TER), and diet prescriptions. It provides formulas for determining BMI based on weight and height. It also outlines methods for calculating desired body weight using Tannhauser's and Ador Dionisio's methods. Formulas are given for calculating BMR based on weight, height, age, and sex. TER is calculated as BMR plus physical activity plus specific dynamic action of food. Diet prescriptions should distribute TER as 65% carbohydrates, 15% protein, and 20% fats.
