stores, processes, and retrieves data.

COMPUTER SYSTEM
◆ A system of interconnected computer devices that shares a
central processing unit (CPU) and various peripheral
devices (speakers, mouse, keyboard, etc.)

COMPUTER SYSTEM SERVICING
(CSS)
◆ the act of keeping and maintaining computer systems

◆ Includes diagnosing computer hardware and software issues,


upgrading hardware and software on a computer and
repairing computer systems.

◆ Computer Service Technician – specializes on the selling of
computer systems and its components. This position is
normally found on businesses that sells computer related
products.

◆ Technical Support Staff – this position is normally found in
a variety of business establishments. Personnel under this
job description cater to the needs of other employees in the
workplace that concerns the installation, configuration,
and maintenance of their computer systems.

◆ Computer Repairman – this profession is normally found
in CSS businesses that specializes on repair and
maintenance. They render services to customers who bring
computer systems, components, or peripherals to be
diagnosed and repaired.

◆ CSS Entrepreneur – refers to a person that is engaged in
establishing and running a CSS business from scratch.
Most people who engages in this type of business should
at least have basic knowledge on the principles that
surrounds a CSS business, aside from other competencies
that will make an aspiring entrepreneur successful.
