The Internet of Things
Along with the development of the times, increasingly sophisticated
technology changes very rapidly and quickly. So the Internet, in today's modern
times, nearly all mankind could not regardless of the Internet to conduct various
activities they want. Therefore, we can call it as the "Internet of Things". The first
thing that we should learn to understand The Internet of Things is we must learn first
to know what is the Internet. What is the Internet? The Internet is an abbreviation of
Interconnection Network. The Internet is a global network in the form of
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) that mutually connect
with millions or even billions of other computer networks around the world by using a
few tools in the form of media, such as a Satellite Connection, Telephone, Wireless
Connection, Wi-Fi, or others. In addition, the Internet has some important uses for
people who use them, among other things is the Internet as a tool for collecting data,
the Internet as a tool to facilitate communication and information, the Internet as a
tool to create the object, and the Internet as a tool for accessing various network
activity that requires the Internet. In addition, the Internet has the advantage that can
make users use it within the reach of all over the world either by proximity or
distance. The Internet is the first choice for people to help them because Internet
usage is very efficient and easy to use, especially for most adults is well located in
rural or urban areas. Associated with it, now Internet users are more and more higher.
Not only to facilitate communication and obtain information, even as a means to make
money (Matt, 2016).
Once we know what is the meaning and usefulness of the Internet with the
new clear, we can understand what is "The Internet of Things". At the beginning, The
Internet of Things growing out of some technologies is quite developed, including
Wireless, Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS), and the Internet. The Internet
of Things cannot be defined on a permanent basis. So The Internet of Things are the
physical devices that can be used in a wide variety of things as intermediaries/conduit
of accurate and effective and can be used by people in a variety of activities, such as
in business, business transactions, or other things with the aim to facilitate
communication and get the needed information without requiring human interaction
which is human interaction with a computer (Greengard, 2015). The Internet of
Things in need of some Object (Hardware) in the use of the system, in the form of
smart devices and connected devices, such as Computers, Laptops, Handphones, and
others in order to be able to connect with some Software, such as Network
Connectivity, Sensors, and other data that can produce or secrete data. The Internet of
Things is also a basis that can be connected to other devices other than computers and
laptops, including washing machine, fridge, television, Closed-Circuit Television,
Projectors, and others. "A Things" on The Internet of Things can be defined as a
subject, for example, a BMW luxury car that a system is equipped with sensors and a
special CCTV for parking warning to notify the driver if the car parking has not been
right. The Internet of Things, which is a need in the form of a very internetworking
and are always needed for the people so the number of users increasing every time
(Kellmereit, 2013).
The Internet of Things cannot only be used in private interest only, but can be
used in the common interest. Nowadays, for example, in the field of business, that all
existing activities in the company, mostly relies on the use of the IoT and also some
of the technology that they have to work together with other companies. However, the
Internet is a network that plays a role in all the activities of the company. The
company needed the IoT to be able to connect with other channels is needed. In
addition, the company also uses the IoT as data collection even store data required by
email or other applications provided on the IoT. Not only in the field of business, IoT
may also be used in a variety of sectors, such as infrastructure management,
environmental monitoring, building automation, and others.
Related thereto, of course we know that IoT has some positive impact. In the
absence of any existing physical IoT is not certain will be moving forward. If IoT
does not exist, then the technological development of the world and human beings are
not certain because IoT is required for connection in order to be interconnected. The
subject requires the object, so instead of the object requires the subject. If there is one
among the component does not exist, then we can imagine the component cannot run
properly. With the creation of IoT, it will have the impact that the presence of a new
rules where, 'anything that can be connected, then it will be connect'. This can occur
because IoT is "the next big thing in the world" in particular for the use of the
information and communication.
However, without we realize that behind the large number of positive impacts
the existence of IoT, many negative impacts on the IoT. IOT has also negative impact,
including the danger posed if we are not careful in using it. For example, a BMW
luxury car created with so sophisticated with nice accessories has some negative
impact on BMW luxury cars because the rider can be hijacked people who want to
commit crimes by way of embodying the virus from their Software so that it can
derail the BMW luxury car system in the form of damage to the car system and
consequently if the driver doesn't know it, it can be wretched while driving.
As well as we know, the negative effects that occur in the long run in the
world in the use of IoT because so powerful is the existence of a CyberWar.
CyberWar was going on due to the war over the use of the Internet (Stiennon, 2015).
CyberWar has activities behind the counter so that it is visible or not visible.
CyberWar usually occurs because Internet users each other maintain the information
they get from the Internet. When a CyberWar goes on usually Internet users utilize the
Internet connection to spread a virus on the network. In addition, cases of piracy are
also included in the CyberWar.
Positive and negative impacts on the IoT is cannot be estimated. Not only the
positive impacts were found, but the negative impacts are also found in the use of the
IoT. In my conclusion, in fact can't have opinions those details about these two things.
In my opinion, the more sophisticated on IoT, we found more positive impact and
more negative impact caused. However, now the most important IE we must realize
and understand that how the IoT greatly influences life on Earth. We as users of the
IoT wise should be able to take the correct steps to use it, by way of a rethink about
the opportunity that we want to take.
