Leadership

The document outlines the process of preparing for and completing two mock interviews for university admission. After the first interview, feedback indicated answers were too vague. The author then prepared more thoroughly for the second interview by researching common interview questions and practicing responses. During the second interview, answers flowed more smoothly though some formal vocabulary could still be improved. Overall, the reflection showed value in thorough preparation to perform well in interviews.

1st draft

As I grew up I always got a repeated question: what I want to be and what is my plan for
my future university. I have had a dream that I wanted to be a flight attendant but it was just a
kid's dream when I saw them on duty and I thought that it was so cool. Whenever I told my
parents that I wanted to be the flight attendant, they would end up by saying " Being a flight
attendant is not easy because you will be tired at the end and you will lose some relationships
within the family." When I hear this conversation several times, it makes me annoyed because I
think their thoughts make no sense. However, I can't do anything, just leave my childhood's
dream and start to find myself more. Basically, my family already has business, so my father
wants me to study in the business field so that I can apply it to my family's business after I
graduate. Throughout my highschool years, I have been to several university expos to get more
options and I found that a BBA at MUIC is one of my best choices. I have heard from many
alumnus that BBA at MUIC stands out and also many alumnus succeed after they graduate
from here. Besides, I do admire the environment here as it is an eco-friendly campus and it has
no polluted air.

Since I was in grade 10, I chose introduction to business as my elective subject. It was a
wonderful time for me because I had an opportunity to be involved in the school student market
as all business students needed to create their own shop to sell food or drinks. I chose to sell
ice-cream with a variety of flavours such as chocolate, strawberry, and coconut. Also I provided
more options for customers to choose their own toppings like sprinkles, cherry, or seasonal
fruits. Moreover, at that day, there was a science fair as well so me and my team decided to do
delivery to science fair students as well. This provided me an opportunity to manage my own
business and deal with customers. Although it was my first time to do this, I still made some
profits and I got some positive feedback from teachers and friends. Moreover, I got a prize from
the category of creative business as well.

What I have planned for my future is simple but worth it, I planned to study business and
after I graduate I will apply all my knowledge such as managing and developing strategies to all
my family business and try to open more local brunches in order for local people to reach out to
our business. The reason why I wanted to develop family business is because my family
business is using the old management system for over 15 years even though my parents are
improve it over time but I think it can goes better that it used to be and I think I have a potentials
to motivate staffs to work with me and go further. I do believe that MUIC would change me and
provide me loads of experiences that will help me in my future career.

When I was in grade 11, I had to do an internship as a part of my capstone project. I

chose to do my internship at IGS which is a company that is working about label printing and
printing machine services for many big companies. Interestingly, IGS is not only based in
Thailand but also has branches in many countries in ASEAN. My one week internship provided
me an opportunity and experiences to explore in a field that I never knew before. Moreover, I
have seen all the process of label printing from beginning until the end which I enjoyed a lot
because before I get to know all the processes, I was doubt on this industry like

Reflection

The main purpose of this writing is to submit to the university in order to introduce
myself and present my goals. It is not only writing for the university but also helping me
to know more about myself and understand the nature of who I am and try to achieve
my goals. After writing SOP, I think that it helps a lot because I know what major I want
to enroll in which is a business field and what I want to be in the future. Last but not
least, I enjoyed writing a lot because I know myself and trying to push myself forward by
looking at my childhood dream, I think it is one of my motivations and inspiration.

Feedback from Ms. Simran (1st interview)

My problem that I have found during my interview is that my information is too vague

and I was speaking around the bush also the word 'something' was often used so I need

to improve on this and make it better in the second round. So she gave me a (4/6)

When I was waiting for my second round of interview, I prepared and fixed my problem

that I had found in the first round by finding reliable sources to help me.

Second Interview (27/11/20)

What I have learned?

The overall of this round is quite good, I am able to answer most of the questions well

but the only thing that needs to be improved is to try to use more formal and difficult

words. The problem that I found in this round is when I am speaking, I usually think in

Thai to English which makes my interview not flow. So I need to think directly in English

and it would be better.

Interview Reflection:

I would honestly say that I was lazy to prepare the script for the first interview and

that made me lack thinking patterns and lead to vague information. After I got a

feedback from Ms. Simran, I have realised that it is important to prepare beforehand

because when it comes for a real situation, the interview would go flow and fluently.

Then for the second interview, I managed to answer all questions well and tried not to

go vague and out of topic. The score for the first interview was 4 / 6 and for the second

interview I aimed higher because the score of the first interview was not good enough.

When it came to the second round, I prepared to talk in order and tried not to go vague,

with the research I did it helped me a lot and I got 5.5 / 6 . By viewing both interview

videos, I can see changes from the first to the last round and I think that I improved and

it shows how hard work I did.

Goal 1 :

Goal- Getting SAT verbal score at 450 or above

W: Get SAT verbal score at minimum of 450 or above.

O: If I get my wish score so that I can use it for enrolling in the university admission.
O: I struggled in reading 5 passages within 65 minutes and some grammatical errors in the
writing part.
P: When I knew that I had not reached my goal yet, I tried hard and practiced more by doing
exercises from the official and past papers from reliable resources.

How to start:

1. Do past papers
2. Practice from Khan Academy
3. Revise the mistakes from papers.
4. Try to do at least one paper per day. (Reading+writing)

If I did not achieve my goal

- It would be my lesson to adapt in the future.

Date Plan Outcome

12-19/ OCT/2020 - Download the pass papers - Know what time and dates,
- Do the planning routine so proper routine for me to
stay focused and on task.

20-27/OCT/2020 - Do past papers - At first my score was below

450 but after practicing for
a week, the score
increased.

28 OCT - 4 NOV/2020 - Do past papers - The score is stable

05-12 NOV/2020 - Do past papers - The score is stable

I asked for feedback from my classmates at KNC, which is my tuition center. I knew

myself that I kept on practicing many papers and the result is better than I think. Proud

of me.

Reflection:

The goal is a day by day process but I already set the deadline to see the improvement

of myself whether I achieve or not. Overall, I have improved my score and I have

recognized tricks for the writing part. So the result was very pleasing and I proud of

myself.
Goal 2:

Walk at least 5000 steps a day

W: Try to walk at least 5000 steps a day.

O: If I walk at least 5000 steps, myself would be productive.

O: Sometimes I am lazy so I keep on sitting.

P: When I got notification on my phone that my step has not reach 5000 yet, I am trying to walk more and
more.

I would like to keep myself healthy but I have no time to work out so I decided to do a goal for walking instead

because I usually walk during the day. I would like to experiment myself whether I can do it or not? Am I

productive during the day or not?

Planning:

Keep on walking and in the end of the day I am going to check the result on the health application on my

phone.

Date Plan Expected Outcome

12/10/2020-24/10/2020 Walking at least 5000 steps See that whether that day I am
productive or not

25/10/2020-07/11/2020 Try to increase the amount but if Want to see that in that week, how
can't just 5000 steps many days do I unproductive

08/11/2020-21/11/2020 Walk at least 5000 steps per day To challenge myself.

WEEK 12/10/2020-24/10/2020

In these two weeks, the walking average of the first week had not reached the goal yet.

But when it comes to the second week, the average had reached the goal already.
25/10/2020- 7/11/2020

The average of these two weeks is quite good enough, I have changed my routine for

going to school by taxi to walking, it is a little exercise itself. During the day, I also tried

to walk as much as I could. To be honest, I am so proud of myself.

08/11/2020-21/11/2020

In these two weeks, I was too busy with my final assessments so I did not walk a lot.

But I did remind myself whenever I am free I need to walk !

SOP process journal

25/10/20

I did research for MUIC, BBA faculty, which does not require SOP. But anyway, I did

some research on what should be in the SOP.

https://www.lucidchart.com/blog/how-to-write-a-standard-operating-procedure
27/10/20

I started to draft SOP by looking at examples from the internet. Also, I decided to do an

outline first in ordered to know what I need to put in my SOP.

5-7/11/20

I finished my draft and asked my friends to comment and grade for me.
10-16 November 2020

I have gone through the comments from the first draft and made some changes. I have

added my work experiences and achievement. I started to write the final one.
19-20 November 2020

I asked my friends to comment and grade my final SOP. For me, I think I did a great job

and I have put my effort into this project. I DESERVE IT!!
