Salary Hike Letter

The GDMOs recruited on April 14, 2020 to help with COVID-19 request a salary increase to match newly recruited GDMOs. They have worked tirelessly since the beginning of the pandemic under difficult conditions. A recent notification offers newly recruited GDMOs Rs. 70,000 per month, while current GDMOs only receive Rs. 53,945, despite doing the same work. They feel this is unfair discrimination and humbly request that their salaries be increased to equal the new recruits.

Vijayawada
To,
District Magistrate
Krishna district
Machilipatnam.
Sub: Request for salary hike equal to newly recruiting GDMOs through proper channel,
pay allowance in recent notification ROC no. 373/COVID 19/2020 dt 26.07.2020. G.O. RT
No 240 HM&FW(A1) Dept dt 20.04.2020.
Respected Sir,
We are General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) recruited under Ref: notification
dated 14.04.2020 - COVID 19 recruitment of GDMO on contract basis. G.O. RT No 240
HM&FW(A1) Dept dt 20.04.2020
As you may be aware of the fact that we were brave enough to start working for COVID19
soon after our recruitment through DME when a lot of people aren’t willing to work after getting
appointment letters.
We have been working restlessly with the available resources as efficiently as possible. We
are working very passionately in treating the patients, addressing their needs, educating them and
giving them much needed assurance to deal with the disease mentally.
We have been the backbone in mitigation and containment of the pandemic since our
inception. We worked in very uncomfortable, difficult and dangerous work places viz COVID
hospitals, fever clinics,COVID OP, casualty ETC
Today we came across the notification (ROC no. 373/ COVID19/2020 dt 27.07.2020)
from your office for the recruitment of GDMOs. They have been offered a remuneration of
Rs70,000/- which is a great gesture to recognize the risks our medical fraternity is taking in
dealing with the pandemic. However we have been offered a consolidated pay of Rs 53945/- per
month where there is a lot of disparity for same qualification and the same work and where we
have been already working since the beginning.
We feel it as a discrimination since we and the new recruits are being recruited for the
same COVID 19 duty with same qualification.
We humbly request you to kindly hike our salaries equal to the new recruits.
Thanking you sir
Yours sincerely
COVID 19 GDMOs
GGH VIJAYAWADA.
