Types of Sentence 1

This document defines and provides examples of three types of sentences: simple sentences, compound sentences, and complex sentences. A simple sentence contains a subject, verb, and expresses a complete thought with one independent clause. A compound sentence is made up of two independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction. A complex sentence contains an independent clause and one or more dependent clauses, which do not express a complete thought on their own and are introduced by a subordinating conjunction. The document provides examples to illustrate each type of sentence.
