Title: Installing USB Drivers for EZware-5000 Software


Summary
This document explains how to install the USB driver. This driver is necessary for downloading or
uploading projects from a PC using a USB cable.

Solution
In order for EasyBuilder to connect to an HMI5000 via USB, the Maple Systems USB driver must be
installed.

1. Make sure that EZware-5000 has been properly installed.

2. Power up an HMI5043N, HMI5056N, HMI5070NH, HMI5070TH, HMI5100NH, or an HMI5100TH.


Then connect it to the PC via the USB cable.

3. Windows will recognize a new device. A popup message similar to the following should appear:

4. After a few seconds, Windows will display the New Hardware Found dialog box. Select No, Not This
Time, and click the Next button.

5. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and click the Next button.

6. Select the \usbdriver folder under the main software installation folder.

The default folders are:

EZware-5000 c:\MapleSystems\EZ5000\usbdriver

EZware-5000 Utilities c:\MapleSystems\EZ5000Util\usbdriver

Note If a different installation folder was selected during setup, the USBdriver folder will be under
that folder.

In rare cases, multiple drivers may be offered. Choose the one in the folder indicated above.

Note The folder for the full EZware-5000 is shown below in step 7.

7. Click the Next button.
