Chapter 3

SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter shows the summary of finding, conclusions and

recommendations. The data gathered which were analyzed and

interpreted in the previous chapter are summarized here.

Conclusions were drawn based on the findings of the study.

SUMMARY

The main purpose of this study was to determine if there is

a connection between the students’ over dependency on gadgets use

to their interpersonal and psychological skills.

This research investigation was descriptive in nature.

The respondents of this study were the 224 students of the

senior high school. The said respondents were determined through

random sampling.

To determine the students’ profile, the researchers got the

percentage who answered the questionnaire.

To determine the relationship between students’ over

dependency on gadget use and their interpersonal and

psychological skills, the researchers used weighted mean.

To determine the positive and negative effects of gadget use

and the factors affected by over dependency on gadget use on the

interpersonal and psychological skills of students, the

researchers used weighted mean.


To determine if there is a relationship between the

students’ profile and their interpersonal and psychological

skills o gadget use, the researchers used Pearson r correlation

coefficient.

FINDINGS

Based on the analysis of the data the following findings

emerged which served as basis for conclusions and the

corresponding recommendations:

On Age

The results show that the most number of respondents in the

study are 18 year old they comprise the majority of the total

number of respondents.

On year level

The results show that the grade 12 students got the highest

number of respondents which has the total of 145 students which

is equivalent to 64%.

On gender

The results show that there are more females than males in

the study.
On positive and negative effects of gadget use

The results show that the respondents always observed the

positive effects of gadgets. Meanwhile, the respondents sometimes

observed the negative effects of gadgets.

On interpersonal skills

Results show that the respondents sometimes observe that

their over dependency on gadgets use affects their interpersonal

skills, mental health, and emotional well-being. Meanwhile, the

respondents never observe that over dependency on gadgets use

affect their behavioural aspect.

Conclusions

Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn:

on gadgets and the respondents interpersonal and psychological

skills.
Recommendations

Based on the findings, the researchers recommend that;

1. The teachers can make use of apps on mobile phones such as

Google classroom and Microsoft apps as a medium for the

students to learn more about the lesson

2. Further studies should be conducted but with a bigger number

of respondents in a wide scope
