#Description of every steps of finishing room managemet:
1.Goods received from sewing section : Inputs of finishing room is goods of
sewing section.
2.Heat seal: Heat seal is attached in backside area of knit garments Ex. T-shirt.
Transfer printing,photo printing, is used for attaching it with high temperature
and pressure (air,hydrolic).
3.Thread sucking : In this step extra lose sewing thread are sucking by sucking
m/c. In low GSM fabric sucking is done manually by hand. In High GSM fabric
sucking is done by machine.
4.Ironing :Before ironing any spot,dirt,dust should be removed.
Otherwise they will permanently attach with garments. Ironing is a
discontinuous process. Ironing is done to remove unwanted crease,
improve lusture and increase smoothness.
Ironing mainly two types-
i)Electric Iron
ii)Steam Iron
5.Running quality check : After ironing, garments are inspected.Here
color variation,shape,measurement,defect is inspected.
6.Quality management : As per quality management.
7.Get up 1st lot audit :Appearance or styke of garments checked
randomly(10 pieces) per lot size. A lot size contain 40-50 pieces or more.
8.Hang tag attached : Attach hang tag(price,size etc) in the garments.
9.Quality check : Again quality check.
10.Folding : Folding is done by hard board paper,plastic board.These are
used for garments proper length,width and shape. Tissue paper is used
for dryness and remove moisture from garments. It also abstruct the
microorganism attack. Pin , clip ,etc are used for folding.
Folding mainly three types :
i) Half fold : When folding is done middle of the garments
across the length.
ii) Flat/Board fold :When folding is done around a board in
flat manner.
iii) Skirt fold : By inserting plastic collar , collar is fold with
90° angle with main body.
11.Metal detection : If any metallic components like broken needles are
detected in this stage.
12.Hanger Sizer : Garments are stiff by hanging and two types of hanger
sizer is used – Numeric and Alphabetic.
13.Poly packing : Poly packing is done by 2D poly & 3D poly .
Single poly (only one piece garments placed)
2D Poly
Blister poly (more than one piece garments are placed)
3D Poly Gusset Poly (shopping poly) High density thicker than 2D
poly.
14.Cartooning : Small cartooning is inner cartooning . Inner cartoon is
placed in large master cartoon.
Information over the cartoon is –
 Order number, factory name
 Country origin
 Product size, color
 Buyer name etc.
15.Final inspection by buyer representative : Randomly cartoon is select
and inspection of garments is done as buyer requirements.
#Importance of finishing :
1. Finishing plays the vital role for complete garments in
apparel manufacturing industry.
2. It provides finishing touch,defect free and high quality
garments.
3. To improve attractiveness of the fabric.
4. To increase lifetime or durability of the garments..
5. Finishing is the heart of textile processing.
6. Improve process control, monitoring and automation.
7. To meet specific requirements of fabric for achieve the final
goods.
8. To make the garments suitable for an end use.
