Effort Tracker System

This document describes an effort tracking system that allows employees to log their time spent on tasks, submit weekly reports to managers, and generates reports. The existing manual system is time-consuming. The proposed web-based system allows users to login, add/modify/delete tasks, start timers, submit and view reports, and get help. When a report is submitted, an email is automatically sent to the approver. The system will be developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java technologies and will use a MySQL database. It has minimum hardware requirements of a 1.6GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 20GB disk space.

ABSTRACT

This project is aimed at developing an Effort Tracker System that is of importance to an

organization. The Effort Tracker System is used to track the employee activities and summarize

all related activities with the total hours spent and percentage efficiency utilized and generate a

report for the same.this project is used to track the employee activities and summarize all

Existing System with Limitations:

The Existing system is manual System. The Effort is tracked manually. This system is tedious and

time consuming.

Proposed System Features:

The proposed system is web based application. The proposed system contains the following

functionalities

There are registered people in the system. Some are approvers. In an organization, the

hierarchy could be Engineers/Managers/Business Managers/Managing Director etc.

1. A person should be able to

 login to the system through the first page of the application

 add/modify/delete a task
 Start the timer to track the task. More than one task can be selected. In this case

the weight age of the timer is distributed such that the total weight age of all the

tasks selected becomes 100%.

 Submit a weekly report to his superior.

 View the submitted and the non-submitted reports.

 Modify the non-submitted report.

 Modify the approvers name and the project code.

 Get help about the Effort Tracker system on how to use the different features of

the system.

2. As soon as a weekly report is submitted by the employee, an automatic email should be

sent to his superior (approver) giving details about the report.

Hardware Requirement

The collection of internal electronic circuits and external physical devices used in
building a computer is called the Hardware. The minimum hardware requirement specifications
for developing this project are as follows:
Processor : Standard processor with a speed of 1.6 GHz or more

RAM : 256 MB RAM or more

Hard Disk : 20 GB or more

Monitor : Standard color monitor

Keyboard : Standard keyboard

Mouse : Standard mouse
