History

A roll is a small, often round loaf of bread served as a meal accompaniment (eaten

plain or with butter). A roll can be served and eaten whole or cut transversely and dressed

with filling between the two halves. Rolls are also commonly used to make sandwiches

similar to those produced using slices of bread. They are found in most cuisines all over

the world. In the Deipnosophistae, the author Athenaeus (c.A.D.170 – c. 230) describes

some of the bread, cakes, and pastries available in the Classical world. Among the breads

mentioned are griddle cakes, honey-and-oil bread, mushroom-shaped loaves covered in

poppy seeds, and the military specialty of rolls baked on a spit.

Even in the same languages rolls are known by a variety of names. In Ireland and

parts of England, a soft roll is called a bap.

Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Hungary, and other countries with a thriving

bread culture.

Other European languages have many local and dialectal terms for bread rolls.

These include German language diminutives of Brot (bread) in most of western and

central Germany (where they are called Brötchen) and in Switzerland (where they are

called Brötli). Other German language terms include Rundstück ("round piece") in

Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein; Semmel in Austria and southern Bavaria; Weck in

much of Baden-Württemberg, Franconia and Saarland; Schrippe in Berlin and parts of

Brandenburg. Some of these names reappear in other European languages as well, for

example as zsemle in Hungarian, or rundstykker ("round piece") in Danish and

"Small bread" is also found as Italian panino, but which commonly denotes a very

Saarland which consists of two rolls joined together side-by-side before baking.

A variety of rolls are found in Europe, from white rolls made with wheat flour, to

dark rolls containing mostly rye flour. Many variants include spices, such as coriander

and cumin, or nuts. Also common are bread rolls containing or garnished with whole

seeds such as sesame, poppy, pumpkin or sunflower.

1. Executive Summary

Knowing and understanding customer needs is at the center of every successful

business, and most of the time, they are being satisfied by the things that they need and

want specifically the food. Food is one if the fundamental needs of every individual, it

keeps the body alive, and because body needs nutrients to work properly. So, the

implementers decided to create and sell a home-made bread roll which they called as

“BRnR” meaning bread rock n’ roll. The target customers are the PLV students and the

other people within the vicinity of the said school. In addition, the business is also open

for market expansion and target other areas within the Valenzuela City. The implementers

are focused on satisfying the customers, to be able spread positive impact towards the

product. Increasing customer satisfaction leads to the business to be more profitable.

Even though there are a lot of food stalls along the PLV, the implementers are still

in faith of entering the market. The BRnR will offer bread rolls at bite size in affordable

price enough for student’s budget. The 14 investors of the business contributed 100

pesos each totaling up into 1400 peso, assumed that the gross income of the business

will be 600 pesos for the first day less its estimated total expenses which is 419 pesos,

the business will gain a daily 181 pesos income for every 100 pieces of bread roll sold.

Operating Manager

The operating manager area of management that deals with the

designing and control on the process of production, specifically it deals with the

daily hand to hand supervision of the production of goods starting from raw

materials to finish goods.

Sales Manager

The sales manager is an area in management that deals with the

promotion of goods. It mainly deals with creating and implementing strategic sales

plan capable of raising awareness to the target market, delivering customer

satisfaction and ensuring the company’s strong presence in the market.

The financial manager functions as the supporting body for all the

parts of the business. Typical duties of financial manager include ways to improve

finance manager.

The bread roll will offer customers a variety of flavors. Hotdog stuffing inside and

The COD will offer two variety of flavors for its finest bread roll. The first is filled

with smoking hotdog with creamy cheese covered by bread crumbs. The other one is

filled with sweet ham partnered with creamy cheese dressed by bread crumbs.

Production Process and Control

1. Flatting the bread

The first step in making a bread roll is to flat the bread using a rolling pin,

tumblers and other cylindrical objects without rough edges can be used in the

process but for sanitary purposes the business will rely on using rolling pin.

2. Slice the ham/ hotdog

The next step is slicing the ham or the hotdog to your preferred size, the

business sliced the hotdog in two and the ham is sliced in two also.

The next step is putting it all, put gently the ham or the hotdog to the bread

along with slice of cheese.

4. Rolling

Roll the bread to form a cylindrical shape, after rolling the bread beat at

least 4-5 eggs, then soak it to beaten egg. Next is roll the soaked bread to

the bread crumbs.

5. Frying

After the process, preheat the pan and deep fry the bread roll until it

becomes golden brown.

The steps will be strictly followed by the operating staffs, to ensure the

cleanliness of the food, the staffs will be undergone sanitary measures and will use

and wear proper equipment suitable for the product.

Regulatory and other compliance issue

The BRnR is a partnership type of business, as part of its objective of

ensuring its customers, the business acquired authorization from DTI (Department

of Trade and Industry). The business also secured a barangay clearance from the

office of barangay Malinta and as compliance to state law the business is

registered to BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue).

Marketing Strategy

An aggressive marketing campaign will aim to boost the visibility of BRnR

in the market. This will emphasize on feedback-seeking from the customer on the

taste and the things to improve within the product. The BRnR will utilize its all

resources to communicate with its target market.

• Social Media- the company will be active on using the platform to

advertise the product specifically in Facebook wherein most of the

market is found.

• Active selling- the company will gather data regarding the recess

and vacant periods of each classes to establish brand awareness

about the product.

Sales Strategy

The strategy will emphasize the ordering and buying of the product from

BRnR. The company will make sure that the customer will have an easy access to

order the product in bulk or per piece. The sales effort will work on possibly posting

pictures and awareness about the product and company offerings, social media

will become the number one platform that the company will use to spread

awareness and as well us accept orders from the customers.

company’s campaign, several factors will be examined to help boost sales. The

first is customer service excellence, as part of the vision of the company it will be

a must to sustain the exemplary customer service as it is a part of making a flexible

market position. The next one is keeping it safe, as a part of the obligation of a

food business it is a must to have a total quality and sanitary control within the

workplace, therefore the company will ensure that its workforce will be equipped

with proper and clean cooking equipment to ensure the cleanliness of the food.

the mostly available target market in the area of business.
